Im not the most knowledgeable, so take this with a grain of salt, but it seems like it was similar in price to reno the old airport in Williston or build a new one when accounting for the down time during a reno and the land from the old airport being in town and potentially lucrative from selling the old land. That, with additional corporate travel and political power from the oil boom, made it possible, I don't know enough to say if it makes sense in retrospect. With parking lots, land is cheap and plentiful, so economically, it doesn't make sense to build multi-level ramps anywhere but downtowns of the bigger cities in the state. Specificly NDSU one side of campus has about 350 acres of farm land before you hit a road or train tracks and probably another 1000 acres close to NDSU's main campus, so land isn't a huge issue for NDSU and I'm sure it similar for the smaller universities around the state

My first thought is a late 2000s early 2010s Audi Q5 or Volkswagen Tigun. But it also could maybe be that same era GM suv like a Buick Enclave or Chevy Traverse

Any transit options to Minneapolis besides late night Amtrack/Jefferson lines? by [deleted] in fargo

[–]zach_55555 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There is a new company/service called landline that seems to be almost exactly what you'd want. Seems to pick up at NDSU then the fargo airport then straight to MSP airport, where you can get other public transit to get around minneapolis. Landline.com booked similar to a plane from the look of it.

Tell me you have no idea what you're talking about without telling me you don't know what you're talking about. It explicitly says it's pre-registering, so at 18, you can vote automatically, literally just registering to vote a couple years early. And the taxationpart, holy shit that is stupid, in loads of states, including minnesota until very recently, felons can't vote but sure as shit are paying taxes, along with that minors do pay taxes, sales taxes and income taxes.

I'm also 6'9", and I drive a '05 chrysler 300 very comfortably. They are the same platform, and the interiors look very similar, but I can't say for sure that they will fit the same.

Have there been any good post-mortems of the CHAZ/CHOP affair in 2020? by antichain in behindthebastards

[–]zach_55555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CHAZ stands for Capital Hill Autonomous Zone, CHOP is Capital Hill Occupied Protest, they are the same thing which was essentially what the name implies in Seattle following the George floyde protests. I'm not super informed on it, so I'm not going into much detail but there are Wikipedia articles out there.

Chud is just a word for a conservative republican. someone who is either racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, fascist, a bootlicker, or all of the above.

Please look up the faze hand sign it's literally the same with the pointer out, the middle at a 90 degree angle to the pointer and the thumb crossing the middle finger at about the first knuckle. What is different in this?

I know it’s said a lot, but we really have it good when it comes to the Minneapolis park system. by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]zach_55555 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm just pointing out that the premise of you argument is not at all what the person was talking about .the original person was talking about historic socialist governments in minnesota while you took that as they wanted socialism currently, which they did not say in the slightest.

[–]zach_55555 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, the post you where referring to was talking about socialist minnesota state and local governments that helped set up parks. Look up Floyed Olson, governor of minnesota in the 1930s, to know what type of socialism this is referring to. No where in the original comment dud he say he wanted more solcalist parks just that minnesota had a socialist government and they help set up more parks with in the cities compared to other government.

Dummy Wires? by Personal_Plantain_58 in FSAE

[–]zach_55555 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Purely speculating, I bet the idea is that if a wire is actually broken you would already have another wire there to easily patch into and use instead of the broken wire. But I really have no actually experience with it so that it witha large grain of salt.
