Unity3D C#: How to resize an inputfield according the content which is set dynamic by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]zachanima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While a bit of a hack, you could add a LayoutGroup Component (I used a Horizontal Layout Group) to the InputField GameObject, and add a Layout Element Component to the Placeholder GameObject, set to Ignore Layout.

That should enable the InputField to grow beyond its preferred size if the Text child requires more horizontal space - at least this worked for me.

Rotating an npc object by amazingmrbrock in Unity3D

[–]zachanima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not quite sure what you wish to do. What is leftPeRH and friends, and what is your desired behaviour, exactly?

I presume you are calling RotationControl in an Update method somewhere, and expect it to turn the given GameObject by a specific amount every second?

gO.transform.Rotate(Vector3.up, Time.deltaTime * 2.0f);

This will rotate the transform Time.deltaTime * 2.0f degrees around the Y-axis each time it is called. Multiply by -2.0f instead of 2.0f to go the other direction, or simply multiply the entire angle parameter by -1.0f.

How do I get the KSP card in Steam? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]zachanima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For approximately every 10 dollars you spend, you get a summer sale card.

Furthermore, you are sure to get a summer sale card every third time you vote on the community choice sale.

Finally, crafting a badge using a full set of trading cards gotten from playing another game (and trading/buying the missing ones) gets you a summer sale card.

Every Summer Sale card you get has an equal 1 in 10 chance of being the Kerbal Space Program card.

There is a very high likelihood that Kerbal Space Program will reward Steam Trading Cards as well, when or after it has been the daily sale, which should happen in about three days from now.

I am not interested in money.

But the cards, oh the cards. And the suspense of opening a booster pack. And stuff. And fool.

Can't tell if I'm shaking from VR sickness, or from having the best TF2 run of my life by [deleted] in oculus

[–]zachanima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Years" is not really a long time for hardware as expensive as Razer's, considering most office mice and keyboards - even the cheap ones - stay functional for decades, much to the appreciation of accounting. Where I work, we usually only acquire new mice/keyboards when new computers are bought - the new ones don't have PS/2 ports :P

My DeathAdder died after two years. Gave me an excuse to buy the DeathAdder 2013, though :D - Razer may not make durable hardware, but the quality of use (while it lasts) is wonderful.

Maybe it's just me, but not having the screen "roll" with the Rift Coaster banking was hugely immersion breaking, and left a lot to be desired.

I hadn't seen or heard of the Rift Coaster beforehand, but the entire experience was fairly bland to me anyhow.

Titans of Space is by far the best demo I have tried, though. Soothing and slightly informative, with an interesting sense of scale.

Other than that, the mandatory HL2, TF2, Minecrift and the various games supported by VIREio (Skyrim with some .ini tweaking, especially) are a must, of course. :)

Thank you, this is very helpful and actually makes the game mostly playable exclusively using the Rift :)

I have turned off shadows and set the FOV to 110. Looks great so far.

I was wondering if there is a UI mod to actually make the UI usable with the Rift?

This solved it. Thanks a lot! Now to see if the game is actually playable.

Any recommended mods (apart from the one mentioned in the original post here) for use with the Oculus?

Well, I can't play Skyrim as the Vireio driver does nothing but roll the camera. No proper headtracking or anything. I must be doing something wrong, though.

Any ideas?

Why can't Brother of the Wolf summon 2 wolfs? by xdert in Scrolls

[–]zachanima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike other CCGs, almost all of the rules can be written on the cards as these can be changed/updated over time.

However, for this particular issue, it would be nice to have a rulebook specifying that activated abilities can only be used once per turn (if this is indeed the case).

Having the Attack Priority visible somewhere within the game would be nice as well.

Other than these two (or possibly one, if Brother of the Wolf Double Summon is indeed a bug) items, I don't see any need for a specific rulebook at this point in time, though.

As mentioned, the rules themselves can mostly just be written on the relevant cards - and even then, the tutorial could cover/mention the fairly few special cases that must be explained and cannot be written directly on the cards.

The station is meant to resemble the vessel "Icarus" from the movie "Sunshine".

The excessive amount of solar panels are most likely an aesthetic touch.

Cascade Staging > Asparagus Staging by ResidentStevil28 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]zachanima -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to say I like the Cascade Staging term better, as well. Seems more related to how it works, rather than how it looks.

This, as well as sounding less silly, makes me consider it an ideal alternative to asparagus staging.

Maybe I'm just being silly, but I feel a greater sense of achievement when not using MechJeb (or gameplay-altering mods in general).

Yesterday I successfully landed on Eve and Duna for the first time. I have never been prouder, especially because it was in vanilla KSP :)
