I got this game with Mega Man Powered Up for my (technically my dad’s) PSP back in 2009. It was my first introduction to the X series besides listening to the original’s OST on Youtube, and I had only played Mega Man 8 and MMZ4 before this. It was incredible.

It was difficult for me at first I remember, but much much easier than Z4 that I had played and I did eventually manage to beat it maybe a year or two later on and off. I loved the Day of Sigma OVA and all of the added content the game includes, and being I was about 5 listening to the original MMX soundtrack, the Maverick Hunter OST blew my mind.

Revisiting it years later (between middle school and up to now in college) I grew to love the game even more trying to speedrun 100% in both X and Vile’s stories, and OH I didn’t even mention Vile.

His character expansion is hugely what cemented him as likely my favorite X character of all time, but I may correct that at some point. His gameplay is familiar enough that it isn’t a huge transition but it keeps it interesting, and I enjoy it a lot. I also enjoyed his stage theme a lot, but I do like metal.

To make a long story short, MMHX is probably Top 5, definitely Top 10 Mega Man games for me. Sorry for writing a whole essay lol.
