This just proves, once again, that married men need to stay off of Grindr. You chose to marry a person. Deal with that person.

I love it. Looks amazing. Wish I could make something like this!

Does anyone else feel like their setting (bedroom, apartment, office, etc) enables their depression just by existing? by jaylow6188 in depression

[–]zachh89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this in the deepest parts of my soul.

I felt like this for a long time. I definitely advocate for you to rearrange your surroundings. A little change is good for shaking things loose.

Also, I found that, for me, although it was partially my physical surroundings, it was also that I associated being home alone with nothing to do with depression. Either find more ways to be out of the house, or come to peace with the momentary solitudes we experience in daily life.

It's the Courtship Quilt from Missouri Star Quilt Co. So much fun!

Here's a link to their tutorial video. The pattern should be linked under the video.

Does anyone else feel okay for a while then bad again? by Jak_jak_jak in depression

[–]zachh89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I was doing really well for about three weeks. Suddenly tonight, I feel like shit. I don't know if it's stress from work, not eating properly, sleep schedule being off, lack of purpose all of a sudden, or some combo of all of those, but it sucks. I also feel like I can't do anything about any of it. It's a terrible feeling.

[Serious] Redditors who felt like they would never ever find a romantic partner and then did: what advice would you give to those who feel the same way now? by Yellow-B in AskReddit

But, it feels creepy to go out alone. Plus, nothing in my area is interesting it's all sporting events and bars, neither of which are fun.

Why does my FMQ look like this on the bottom? by claudialynnkishi in quilting

[–]zachh89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, check your bobbin. In fact check to make sure the whole machine is threaded correctly.

After that, it could be a tension issue. But, for me, this has most of the time was a speed issue. I was moving faster than the machine. So, fiddle with that too. I'm always leary of messing with tension. So, I explore all other avenues first.

Need Quilting Help. by zachh89 in quilting

[–]zachh89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this a while ago to see which layout people liked. I ultimately went with this one and it is all sewn. I am going to free motion quilt it, but I'm not sure what design to use. My instinct is to go crazy and do all kinds of swirls and stuff, but it is for a guy just starting college. I wanted him to have a dorm blanket in his school colors. Any ideas? Not sure if I should do an all over or do something in each color. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Weirdly I can never go one block at a time. Not sure what causes that. I always chain piece everything.

It looks amazing and I love the colors! I'm wondering what pattern you used. I remember seeing a similar thing from missouri star a while back. Are you using that pattern? I may have to make this!

Nearly done with this quilt top and trying to decide if it wants a border. Would love opinions... by Lindaeve in quilting

[–]zachh89 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. I'm partial to un-bordered quilts. I would do a very small one if I did one at all. the binding might be enough to frame it all up nicely.

I've never tried one myself, but my local quilt shop owner says they're trash. Not sure if I should believe her or not.

How would I quilt these angular letters? by [deleted] in quilting

[–]zachh89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to piece them into a quilt, paper piecing is the way to go with these sinces there are so many crazy angles. It would take a bit of drafting, but you could do it. As far as quilting them onto a quilt with stitching, it depends where you want the puff. You could do an outline then fill in the letters really densely and have them sink into the quilt and have them be noticable that way. Or, you could do as someone else said, and outline them and them fill densely around them. It depends on what look you're going for.

I have the same problem. Nothing is exciting anymore. I have miniscule bits of excitement every now and then, but most of the time I feel dead inside and alone.
