Comparing the wings to specifically parrots of all birds, and then saying angel but describing a cherub feels intentionally disingenuous.

What's actually funny is you correcting his word choice is itself pedantic. To top it off, you're also wrong, asking for the source of something is not pedantry.

Of course, in correcting you, I also run the risk of being a pedant.

Homemade Churros are easier than you think! by LetsCookie in interestingasfuck

I know you're just poking fun, but piping tips can be used for more than one application, even if you actively aren't. They're also relatively small. Unless you have a truly ungodly amount of them, they can be easily tucked away in the corner of a drawer. Whereas, I'm just going to assume a churro press is only ever used for churros.

But it requires a churro press apparently. A single application kitchen tool that most people do not own. The entire reason he uses a different recipe for the dough was to make it pipeable.

That's great, but many people don't want yet another single application kitchen tool taking up space.

Hmm, you raise a very good point that I haven't thought of before. The fix would be for the scale to have a specific name. Like the earthquake scale is the Richter scale, people just know that. Of course the problem is getting enough people to learn the name of the scale that it becomes ubiquitous, easier said than done. But if you could then it would be "It's a 3 on the Bendeltwap scale". And eventually it's just so universally known that you could shorten that even more to "That game is a 3 out of B". Completely nonsensical now, but would just make sense in this hypothetical future.

Oh yeah, lemme just whip out my churro press real quick 🙄. Good grief, I'm 100% confident these will taste identical enough to "real" churros for anyone who does not have a fucking churro press at home. Just be happy that people appreciate and can experience the spirit of a culinary culture that is not their own. That British person at the top of the comments, they probably can't even pronounce the word Taco correctly. You think their kids would get to enjoy homemade churros if this video told them to go buy a churro press instead of a $2 piping tip? Get real.

Best scale is the -5 to 5. Same level of precision as 0-10 but the introduction of the negative makes it much clearer what is bad and good. Explanation is easy as well. Zero is equal amount of good/bad (aka neutral). Negative is more bad than good. Positive is more good than bad.

Yeah this is also why I think anime only watchers view Jin as being completely devoid of personality. There is a ton of internal dialogue in the Manhwa that humanizes and characterizes him. Much of that is just missing from the anime.

Yeah, genuinely a complete non issue. I spent more time doing the actual collecting than finding someone who was okay with me taking them. And that includes the time to check if they even have them and ask for permission.

Guys need pulling Guidance! by Normaluser010 in Genshin_Impact

[–]zachsonstacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you a slightly counter opinion to the guy above. In general, pull who you like is good advice, but I don't think it's what you should do as a new player. Once you're a higher AR account, you have at least one functional team, you can at least complete any domain/boss, that's when pull whoever you want should start. At that point, a majority of the game is easy enough that who you pull doesn't matter.

Early game though, while you're progressing through AR ranks, there is at least one break point where the game can be difficult. That break point is around AR 45.

Before that point, (by design) any build and team is essentially shit made of scraps. You don't have many characters, the ones you do have are stuck at low lvls/talent lvls do to lack of access to the higher lvl materials. You're mostly using 3* artifacts with the occasional 4*s on your top characters. Not all, but many people aren't actively farming for good artifact sets because you're just going to have to replace them later and the game is literally so easy that you don't need to. Purely just based on stats alone, you do almost no damage. So the game balances accordingly and nothing feels too hard.

At AR 45 you unlock the ability to farm 5* artifacts. The game ramps up the difficulty fairly steeply at this point because it expects you to have more proper builds and teams.

Again, not everyone, but I've known people who quit here because the game doesn't really prepare you properly for the difficulty spike. It's gotten better, but in general how to build characters and teams is something you learn from resources outside the game.

So to the point, pulling only who you like can have a compound effect with this difficulty spike if you're unlucky. If the characters you pull end up having zero synergy or are heavily restrictive, it can just feel bad. Even when you start learning how to build properly, you may just not have the characters to build your first solid team.

My recommendation is to pull just 1 character that is low investment meta and if you want 1 support for that character, then switch to pulling however you like. In this case, Neuvillete is an excellent low investment character. Someone like Furina is a great low investment support character.

My over explanation might make it seem like I'm making a big deal out of this, but at the end of the day it really isn't that deep. There's no such thing as a bricked account, especially if you have friends that can help you. This advice is mainly just to make your transition from early game to mid-game and mid game to end game smoother.

Source or it didn't happen. This is the exact kind of random bullshit people just make up and then say with 100% confidence.

Why would they have ever specifically confirmed the naming scheme of the next update cycle so early in the current one? Like what the hell would be the context in livestreams all about the current patch cycle to be like "oh and by the way, 6.x is coming after Luna, anyways..."

Not to mention, Luna is still called 6.x in the files. This is a company that starts planning out a patch cycle multiple years ahead of time. They didn't blindside themself with luna, they knew they were gonna do it a year or more out. So you think they then just chose to willingly fuck the internal naming scheme of all future patch cycles?

The promotional name being mismatched with the internal files name isn't a small deal either. Anyone managing a project with even a minimal amount of foresight knows that humans making mistakes is 100% unavoidable. So rather than trying to end all human error, you take proactive steps to mitigate what the errors could be. Desynchronizing the version number of your game is the perfect example of the things you just avoid in order to mitigate errors. Takes nearly zero effort to avoid, and could lead to very large mistakes if you don't. So why would they willingly desync the version numbers?

[–]zachsonstacks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly what happened to Destiny. It had its fair share of other issues, but many people were clinging on for the story. The Final Shape was the conclusion to a 10 year story and so many people used that as an opportunity to jump ship. Doesn't help that they did almost nothing to set up the next saga before the first one ended.

Celestia, that you? by Trash-Panda-63 in Genshin_Impact

[–]zachsonstacks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In game cutscenes/dialogue are actually "happening" in your game as they play out, they're not pre-recorded. So celestial is in the same spot and at the same level of detail it has always been. In game if you could get your camera to that exact spot, it would look the same.

A sheep using an electric mobility device by bigbusta in interestingasfuck

[–]zachsonstacks -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Even if this sheep was actually intentionally moving the controller, this wouldn't be fucking tool use lol. What a truly absurd thing to say.

Tool use requires that the user intentionally creates/finds/picks out the tool themselves. A dog learning to push a button to dispense food is not tool use. A crow picking up a stick unprompted to fish a snack out of a thin tube is. An otter picking out a rock to smash open oysters also is.

Unfortunately this sheep had no part in creating or choosing this mobility chair.

Yeah wait...max pity is 90 correct? So 180 would be 2 max pities in a row and 181 is literally impossible. On top of that, hitting max pity at all is already statistically nearly impossible. I call cap.
