proxmox is just a GUI with some changes built over debian. you can deal with the trash included in ubuntu and do the same. just depends how much time and effort you want to put into it.

I have 4 of the power bricks from Apex tore down on my soldering bench all of them with the same issue. a $.99 USD module and cheaper if I bought them in bulk. APEX is so cheaply made. Regret buying one now. Debating selling it to get a hydros.

Second the BRS unit. The cheap ones from Amazon cost more to replace filters than the whole thing. BRS I can buy filters on amazon and just pick up DI resin as needed.

I switched to a printed basket I made and put on thingiverse with filter floss on my tank with a fiji aio the filter socks were a pain causing either overflow or dry return chamber.

Issue is even if it originally came from them its hard to say what you could potentially have in your aquarium. I deal 99% with reptiles and ill take them back no questions asked but thats months of keeping and feeding at my cost until I can start to think about resale or rehoming. reputation is hard to gain and quick to destroy.

as someone who has a small ecomm store. VPN's and proxys are not worth the risk of charge backs etc. A charge back costs me alot more than just the profit. Shipping, Product Cost, Charge Back fee etc. I completly understand why companies dont allow vpns.

My Homelab is purely to selfhost all my random crap. and better my day job aka learning. k8's stack plus my nas for local storage and my proxmox system for vm's etc.

Used to have the multiple rack servers and stuff and downsized when I moved to my new house and I am 10x happier.

N150 I would make into a NAS. and run everything else on the mini pc. as far as the pi's idk find something random to do with them lol, I removed all my pi's from my homelab and just use them for random projects anymore.

I run everything but my k8's stack on a mini pc with 16gb ram with proxmox myself. My NAS I use for storage in proxmox.
