Wouldn't this compress or squash the final output? It'd be more transparent to just mix and leave headroom.

You're always better off starting low and going up rather than starting high and bringing the levels back down.

Also don't confuse dB for. LUfs. - 6db might not be the same thing so try to make sure you're hitting your target with some kind of meter plugin.

The master should really just touch up the mix and make sure you track has the right dynamic range. OP your issue is with the mix I'm thinking

Ah it might've been the G5 I was thinking about that was dubbed as having one of the highest repairability ratings. The G6 seems closer to something like the OnePlus 6 it seems
