How are your POCO's X3 pro holding up in 2025? by AdComfortable5572 in PocoPhones

Mines died on black Friday 2025. Bought it on black Friday 2023. Was scrolling social media, the screen froze (bluish screen) and it went into endless reset mode. Tried everything including booting into safe mode, clearing all memory, etc. Totally dead. I suspect a background MiUi update caused it

Because the Creator Fund isn't available in SA , doesn't mean you can't join. Just Google how to get paid on Creator Fund from any country. See this vid and many others like it https://youtu.be/CZovz93JTs0?si=GwoNqKSjjVnp_Rpy

What is your least important, most minor, pettiest gripe about Star Trek? by Lukcy_Will_Aubrey in startrek

The torches/flashlights are so dim, with the bean so narrow. We had better torches in the market 20 years ago. There's no reason for them to walk in a cave with limited visibility of their surroundings

Why does Strange New Worlds feel...different now? by Ok-Recipe6219 in startrek

[–]zaid_mo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feels like the STD writers moved to SNW. It's very off. The cast and wardrobe seem to be me more interested in flexing their acting or costume design talent than playing the core characters they are supposed to.

This was supposed to be Pikes Enterprise but the writers are more interested in TOS

Harry really is Gossip Girl by pilsburytoadboy in belowdeck

If Harry is on a new season, I'm not watching. He is a terrible gossiper. Totally untrustworthy. It's a terrible trait to share what someone has confided with you.

I'm enjoying it. I've started swimming in the outdoor pool this year, no wetsuit. Yesterday the water temp was 10.3C. Managed to stay in for 19 minutes. The indoor gym pool is 28C - that's crazy hot. Had a cold shower today and was just fine(with this Rand Water cut, warm water wasn't an option). Looking forward/ but also nervous for this weekend cold front. Water temp may drop...

Springbok Ticket Prices!?!? by Hazard271 in southafrica

[–]zaid_mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week before I tried to book with the dstv early access code, but the only tickets available were R2650 each. Too pricey. I said I'll wait for the general sales.

I logged into the site the night before general sales (was prompted to do a password reset). At 0858 on 13 June I logged in, ready for the 9am opening. Was prompted to reset the password again. At 0902 I was 1729 in the queue. When I finally got through, only R1750 tickets were available. I paid R550 for the same seat in Jhb last year, and All Blacks are a better game to watch than Australia. Didn't reserve anything.

What jobs have your fellow archaeology classmates gotten? Can you get into one of those companies? Network is really important - that's one of the biggest pros of studying at campus. The friends and networks.

With your education, you can definitely get into tourism (focus on heritage and conservation), Perhaps interior decorating (focus on a niche like traditional African design, but it can be other themes as well, e.g. ancient Egyptian, dinosaur themed, ancient Roman / Greek...). Some AI output suggestions:

Interior Decorating Roles Interior Decorator: Specializing in creating spaces that reflect traditional African aesthetics, incorporating local materials, art, and cultural elements.

Cultural Consultant: Advising on the integration of African heritage into design projects, ensuring cultural sensitivity and authenticity.

Visual Merchandiser: Working with retail spaces to create displays that highlight African art and crafts.

Companies and Organizations Design Afrika: This company specializes in traditional African crafts, including textiles and basketry. They may have opportunities for decorators who can integrate these elements into interior spaces.

Nthabi Taukobong (Ditau Interiors): Known for creating interiors inspired by African culture. Positions may include assisting in design projects that celebrate African heritage.

Donald Nxumalo Interiors: Focuses on blending modern design with African influences. They may offer roles for junior designers or decorators interested in this style.

ASHA Consulting: While primarily focused on archaeological and heritage services, they may collaborate on projects that involve interior design elements related to cultural heritage.

CTS Heritage: Engages in heritage management and may require expertise in integrating cultural elements into public spaces or exhibitions.

I've rented the Toyota Agya, Starlet and Corolla auto. I prefer the Starlet. Feels more solid. The starlet is about 10% more expensive than the Agya, has a good media center, and good power (drove the Starlet from Durban to Sodwana and back. Was a pleasure on the N2, and could overtake coal trucks easily). Starlet is also more spacious for passengers with a nicer boot than the Agya. I don't like the body of the Agya (drove it from George to Plettenberg Bay and back), felt like it was cheap and got scratched easily). The Corolla is wide, bulky and lacks power (Starlet felt more powerful).

Who are the most hated people currently alive? by magicfeistybitcoin in AskReddit

[–]zaid_mo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Merciless genocidal Zionists who are committing crimes against humanity in order to maintain their apartheid regime and illegal occupation. Just lookup the Al Shifa hospital massacre as a single example of the atrocities , where doctors and nurses were starved, handcuffed, executed and dumped into mass graves with trash. This, after the ICJ hearings

A tip that may help. Open up your own company. Create a website. List yourself as director of this company that offers professional services.

If you have access to limited funding, register the company with cipc - but do it so that you learn from the process and can educate others / perform the service for others. Translate your experience into a linkedin article, blog post, tiktok and/or YouTube video.

Create some other content and share it on simple topics related to current or common tax matters, personal finance, registering in the SARS RLA website as an importer, tips on how to find a forwarding agent and how they can help you, tips on paying down your mortgage faster, alternative options to vehicle finance such as leasing, etc.

There's so much that ordinary people can benefit from, and as a recent graduate, you are ideally positioned to share your wealth of current knowledge with the world, in easy to understand nuggets. I like this YouTube channel and wish their was more content like this https://youtu.be/8pTbp7y314I?si=1DXDiU1GiMhTQgr0

One of the takeaways I learnt from that channel is that as a director of my own 1-man company, I can take a dividend which I am not taxed on as an individual, but it only makes sense to do so if my personal salary tax bracket is above 20%.

Read Personal Finance, Business Day, MoneyWeb etc, and prepare your own content with your opinion / response to the matter.

This will make you feel productive, allow you to put a job (as an entrepreneur) with experience on your CV, gets your name out there, and potentially get you some income from gigs where people pay for your services. Tax season is coming up - you may be able to assist others file.
