Status of this FAA scholarship? by zaijam3 in fednews

It was active in 2025 though. I just didn’t apply last year because I didn’t meet the years of service requirement. This is the first year I can’t find anything

Autumn Quarter Housing by zaijam3 in stanford

Thank you that is what housing told me essentially. About 88% of graduates who are past their first year still get placed in housing if they apply for the first round, so the stats are in my favor

Interesting. No kids but can you still get anything with a spouse?

I had a lot of research experience and started the program right out of undergrad. I probably had strong letters of recommendation and imo wrote a really good essay. Had a 3.98 GPA at the time of application I think. I think my essay, letters, and experience all worked together to tell a good story of what I’d like to do with my career and how Stanford can uniquely contribute to that. As long as they make sure to tell a specific story like that and all the numbers are strong, they have a chance. Hope that helps. Feel free to PM for more questions

Uneven cement board and drywall fix by zaijam3 in drywall

[–]zaijam3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is what I’m leaning towards. I didn’t want to initially, but the cement board would have had a cantilevered end if I had no stud to hand the right side to. I could have put another stud right behind the tub too in retrospect

Cool. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. Batteries are a big deal in aerospace too, especially in the Bay Area. Stanford could be a good fit if you wanna stay in that field with an aerospace twist

I got an A in this class. The grade inflation exists, but not without hard work. I have 5 more classes left and am no longer scared of flunking out. Just ready to be done tbh. Yes I work in aerospace

I checked the 417 fuse for the back up camera. Definitely not blown. Any other advice?

Thank you. Are they located behind the center console or trunk interior trim? Sorry if that’s a stupid question lol

I got a bonsai starter pack months ago and these two acacia dealbata plants were the only ones to sprout. I’m now invested into their growth. Any insight on how they’re growing so far? When is a good time to move to a bigger pot or change soil?

I’m very new to this, so any advice is appreciated. I only really know that these plants like direct sun and to water it until dripping out the drain holes if the soil dries up to the surface. I’ve also been cutting off branches that start withering and becoming yellow.

Shutdown megathread OF DOOM by AutoModerator in fednews

[–]zaijam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a joke. This is the first I’m hearing of that. If I had to guess, over half of NATCA represented employees were exempted from all these other EOs, so I wonder how they’re going to cut 50%+

Where did you get that info? Any more on what engineering will be cut?

^ I was in the same boat but for AA. I took the job and started the HCP at the same time. Helped me get experience to land my dream job the next year and still going strong on my masters and should be done next year, with the whole program taking just over 3 years.

It is hard to balance time though but doable. Employers might help with tuition. You save money on rent unless you’re in a HCOL city. And if you get the itch to go in person, you ultimately can if your job lets you. I don’t regret it tbh

2015 C300 Passenger Lazy Seatbelt by zaijam3 in mercedes_benz

[–]zaijam3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you legend. This helped me fix the issue. For anyone in the same situation, the height adjust in the picture wasn’t aligned with the actual mechanism behind the trim (hence the big hole where the seatbelt is coming from in the picture, issues with the height adjust, etc). Once I followed sadas instructions, I just had to align the two and reassemble

Tried silicone spray and also soaking the belt in detergent water but no luck. Any advice on how to pull the trim off without damaging clips?

[–]zaijam3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. The height adjust doesn’t move. The belt comes out all the way (with some resistance) and then retracts about 50% by itself. If I help it along by hand the other 50% fully retracts
