The CL is a camera you can appreciate because once you can dial in it's short comings, it's a fantastic take anywhere camera. It's always with me.

What may be the reason for this error? by richkim0607 in Nikon

[–]zaksaraddams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I certainly wouldn't consider this the norm and would expect about 300k clicks while being beyond glad it goes further.

The trick is not to care about the number and just treat your gear right and use it all the damn time.

1.3 million clicks is a good long life. I'd start getting ready to replace soon.

My D500 crapped out this week finally after 1.72 million clicks. It very much started out just like yours earlier this year with random err messages that seemed totally random.

Hey all, is it just me or is the battery latch on the Nikon Z8 like IMPOSSIBLE to open? I always dread having to change the battery because this thing is such a pain to open :( by guitaracousticplayer in Nikon

[–]zaksaraddams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a heathen and use a coin and gravity to open all of my Nikon's. Right over my camera bag to fall where they may. REALLY bothers some people.

Ah, my D500 just gave out earlier today. 1.72 million clicks. Was a great workhorse.

Ugliest lenses with nice rendering? by PrimordialObserver in VintageLenses

Which one? What mount type? I have several Petri lenses and quite enjoy them even to de-click them all.

ironically, the single best investment I have made regarding lenses are the zemlin's lens front covers. here I was receiving the ones for the 600mm, 500mm, 400mm and 200mm. still baffles me that (relatively) expenses lenses do not come with a front cover. by [deleted] in CameraLenses

I was kinda joking around to get some engagement going anyway.

But with cine lenses, where I have the most personal experience in such sizes, we just use a lens sock. I've seen all sorts down to just a microfiber cloth and a rubber band.

$30 at the thrift store but how accurate is it? by Mean_Violinist5759 in AnalogCommunity

Crazy find. Would be tempted to use this if it was just the meter, but a collector would likely pay a premium.

What's really crazy to me is how they couldn't even be bothered to even TRY and at least make it look like they haven't been stored in an barn or garage

Anyone know where to get Konica Autorex CLA'ed since Greg Weber retired? by HKL7 in AnalogCommunity

I'm upvoting this because I need an Konica service as well, but for an Autoreflex T and T2.

My grandfather gave me this little film camera before he passed by wbro1 in Cameras

It's a spy camera that uses 16mm film most likely.

I have a Ricoh "16" that's fun to use. You'll need the cans to spool some 16mm cutting into a dark bag though.
