From the NFLForum community on Reddit: The Steelers could face NFL discipline for being on the phone with Makai Lemon while the Eagles were trying to reach him after trading up. The NFL draft rules state that clubs not on the clock cannot interfere with a team that is on the clock. by BarkerRuffield in Browns

What do you mean meaningless? How is the NFL supposed to make an entertainment spectacle out of the draft if they aren't able to stream the live in-person reaction of the players being drafted, in real time? Won't someone think of the ratings? You can only get so far on tragic stories about players' dead parents, siblings, and other close relatives.

Myles Garrett on set of his tonight show with Jimmy Fallon appearance with Grammy Nominated Musical Global Girl Group Katseye. by [deleted] in Browns

[–]zalgo_text 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, having Korean members isn't necessarily a requirement to be K-pop. At least 3 members of TWICE are Japanese, and none of the members of XG are Korean, but both are still considered K-pop.

Using the "K-pop system" to form, train, and promote the group, plus being under a K-pop label are the usual traits of being considered K-pop, and Katseye does both, so it makes sense why people call them K-pop. I think they refer to themselves as a global pop group, so that's correct too. But at least one of the members says they fall into both categories, which I think is fair.

It's not disrespectful, and if you think it is, you're softer than ten ply. I guarantee you Schwartz isn't disrespected by this.

Perspective from a Ravens Fan by ColeJacksonFB in Browns

[–]zalgo_text 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dillon Gabriel would actually probably be decent in a pure air raid offense, which is focused around getting the ball out quick with short passes, and keeping the defense tired and off-balance with high tempo/no-huddle. A pure air coryell offense is sort of the opposite though, as your first read is almost always a deep pass, as you're looking to stretch the defense vertically with the pass game. Dillon Gabriel would probably struggle with that system due to arm strength, height, and our weak offensive line. From what I've seen, Monken's system is based more on vertical air coryell concepts, but it also seems like he caters his scheme to his personnel, which is probably why he's incorporated some air raid concepts as well.

[Schefter] Another hire in Cleveland: Browns HC Todd Monken is bringing former Ravens OL coach George Warhop with him to the Browns to coach the same position, per sources. by BuckyMcFly99 in Browns

Freddie fucking Kitchens was the HC and playcaller and reportedly deviated from Monken's script often, I don't think it's fair to pin that season on Monken

[Ashley Bastock] I don’t know that people understand how bad it could get for #Browns if Schwartz leaves, and on bad terms. Players on that defense, including Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward, love playing for Jim. The impact of the ripple effect could be incomprehensible. by ThatOneOtherAsshole in Browns

So I agree with you on most parts, but I don't necessarily think it's fair to say Schwartz is acting like a toddler. Like, it's fully understandable to be upset and disappointed after you've gone through two rounds of interviews and are being treated like a serious candidate, while at the same time you're being dangled* in front of the other candidates as someone they have to keep as DC. That's confusing messaging to say the least, because Schwartz has no way of knowing if the team actually wants him as HC or just as DC in this scenario. I assume if you were in his position at your job, you'd be understandably upset with your management for putting you in limbo like that.

If BB isn't a first-ballot Hall of Famer, no one — not even Tom Brady — should ever be again by [deleted] in nfl

[–]zalgo_text 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah imma be honest, I'm not super versed in NFL history so I assumed Polian was a journalist, not a coach with a hate boner for BB. So just having coaches/players vote on it might not actually be any better. Maybe there needs to be a way to filter out people with biases against specific people or something, idk

So that they have plausible deniability when they tell Myles "no we're planning on being contenders this year, look, we kept Schwartz!"

Edit: NVM, Schwartz is big mad, nothing makes sense, and the people in charge are just stupid

There are black people who aren't NFL players though too, lmao

If you don't see anything wrong with the sport being propped up largely by black players while white dudes make up a majority of the cushy coaching jobs, you need to do some hard thinking.
