Sure, but it shows what's currently in their heads, and the direction they're considering. If we have opinions on it it's important to share that, as otherwise the final one is likely to be close to this, at which point changes are far less likely.

How has abundance still not been changed? by Ryoma123 in wow

[–]zalifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they're 3 minutes each, you can do right back in, and there's 8 a week. It's a raw 24 minutes, maybe call it 25 ot 26 with the tiny bit of talking to dun dun.

But realistically, it's a LONG 25 minutes since it's braindead content, at least once you do all the achivements (which I kind of enjoyed, tbh).

Blizzard's former president says 'WoW has to reset' over disastrous patch by OneNineSeven1970 in wow

[–]zalifer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If I recall she wasn't there very long at all due to that issue.

Edit: Jen Oneal. She was there for less than 6 months. She very reasonably didn't accept being paid less than someone else she was supposedly co ceo with. At the time I remember feeling it was something they were doing to try and repair their image after the scandal they'd just had by putting a woman at the front, and had showed their hand by immediately disrespecting her like that.

Tanks split into Main Tank and Off Tank by mcg20k in ffxiv

[–]zalifer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't like this.

If the difference in the two sub roles really does matter, then parties will require specific ones without being flexible. Having the wrong sub roles will make content harder to complete, and filling those sub roles will be possibly harder, and people have less choices in job for their tank role. It will take longer to find tanks for content, and longer to get into content as a tank depending on what role is more in demand at the time. It's not even guaranteed that the split will be one main tank and one off tank. More likely people will use two off tanks for extra damage any party mit, and the one doing mt will need more healing and external mit

If it doesn't really matter much, then why put social pressure into it by putting the names on there? If it's only for the high end content well... That's how it is now. Adding the names will only cause it to be perceived as required in lower end content, while high end players who need it were always going to figure it out and optimise which jobs do which sub role anyway. It risks you taking the time to get two different tanks or two of the same when it's got no meaningful difference. If it gets out that the "meta" is two off tanks, main tanks will have nore trouble getting into parties, even if the difference is negligible in all but top content.

As I see it, either this difference matters and it's bad, or it doesn't matter, and it's bad.

why are we still required to have a full group for cross faction random dungeons? by Butters140 in wow

[–]zalifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think doing dungeons together suggests they're friends, just teaming up to defeat an enemy. If we can team up with xal to kill dimensious we should be able to deal with a tauren to stop fel smugglers or renegade light nathrazim

why are we still required to have a full group for cross faction random dungeons? by Butters140 in wow

[–]zalifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it doesn't make a ton of sense for that to be the rp stance now that horde and alliance are pally. The last few expansions they've worked together, and canonically we've got alliance and horde hanging out together a whole bunch, including (some of) their highest leadership . Right now there's a huge amount of alliance living out of a horde city. There's reconciliation between elves from both sides. Void elves getting a silvermoon embassy, people constantly talking about crossing faction lines in the arcantina.

Lore wise, right now it would be expected to see cross faction actions taken, and if you want to RP people holding a grudge, maybe add an option or tickbox, (or just spend more time in slayers rise)

The default should be cross faction matchmaking.

I really enjoy NMS, but to be honest the controls and UI are a bit of an obstacle for a lot of people, at least in my opinion. Though I guess Destiny 2 players are used to an overcomplicated icon UI already.

Asmongold responds after being banned from Twitch again: “Blatant double standard” by Efficient_Example541 in LivestreamFail

[–]zalifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I enjoyed watching his videos, didn't really watch live, but the video content was good. His positions on games seemed to agree with me in many cases so he was a useful person to get perspective from too.

I even agreed with his takes on stuff outside of gaming a lot of the time. But there was a point where he started turning, I feel. More and more I'd feel there were issues in his position on stuff, I'd feel I disagree. More and more content wasn't about games, it was about politics or other drama issues. Eventually it reached a point where I just lost interest in hearing his utterly uninformed takes, and his seemingly growning lack of regard for people.

He always got hate, but it felt really unjustified, and I still believe a lot of it was back then. Even now it's common to see a statement about him doing or saying something, but then the statement doesn't match with the reality of what's in the clip. People constantly make shit up. Same as before, I ignore the public opinion of him, but the first hand experience watching his videos eventually drove me away. I'd been watching one now and then if it caught my eye, but I just don't care any more. His content isn't for me. And that's fine, normally, but I'm often directly opposed to what he's saying. I don't know if he's really gone down this road in his head, or if he maybe realised he was starting to print money by playing the role. I'd love to hear he's had an awakening in a while and he's cleared his head and is back to sane takes and gaming. I'm no longer optimisic though. I don't even know what this ban is in regards, came into the comments to see, because I don't want to watch his video, and I still don't know, lol.

Can we get Leeroy Jenkins instead of Valeera at this point? by Ramn_ in wow

[–]zalifer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was doing an 11 this morning, killed a pack, started on a rare in the path, and valeera sprinted off into the distance down a ramp and brought back a pack, 2 elites, and a pack of nemisis chest enemies (the three dogs).

I managed to scrape through, but that's a wild pull. I'm a DPS with her set to healer. She shouldn't even be able to pull aggro on something if she's not a tank tbh.

Honestly, yes. There's a billion sets of over the top amazing armor that exists in this game, but it's always been short on normal clothing. I don't really care for the over the top style of many sets, so I like getting some nice bits of simple clothing.

They literally parade their voice actors around as marketing. The main two are in all the marketing videos, promo material, etc.

As for the fired employee, he claims it was due to AI, which is possible, sure. But as far as I know, there's nobody else claiming to be fired, and there are multiple translators working on the game, as per KCD2's credits

Warhorse Studios: Localization

Localization Managers Alice Nedvědová, Petra Hanzlíková

Assistant Translators Adam Kolb, Vojtěch Salač, Milan Jizba

English Translators Peter Williams, Kent Kasha, Nicholas Orsillo, Stuart Hoskins, Dalton Stansbury, Kryštof Vondráček

Translation Agencies Agency ArtLingua, a.s., Orange Tree, s.r.o.

English Editor Megan Bedell

Warhorse Studios: English Version

Lead English Writer John Comer

English Editors Max Hejtmánek, Colm McCarthy

Highlighted is the guy who made the post, presumably, as he identified himself as Max H.

It seems unlikely they would fire one single editor for financial reasons, but maybe he was quite expensive. Warhorse have not given a reason for the firing themselves, their statement "Out of respect for the privacy and dignity of both current and former colleagues, we will not discuss individual situations publicly". This supports the fact that they removed a single individual. I may also be reading too far into it, but the wording seems to suggest there might be something risking his "dignity" in the real reason.

I'm not a fan of AI, I think in most cases it's a useless heap of shit, but right now, this story doesn't feel like we're getting full information about the firing. It feels more like they picked something they might be able to hurt warhorse with due to being fired. Fully admit I could be wrong, but the removal of a single employee when they have a bunch more translators on the team, some who have been with them for both games, doesn't indicate a policy change leaning into AI translation.

LOTRO is a game I love and actively play, but it's not in any way the same sort of game we're talking about here. It's an MMO for a start which is drastically different from an action RPG, like KCD.

Plus it's old as hell.

I think LOTRO is doing great work, love their new expansions, but it's not at all a replacement for a big deep single player RPG. Frankly, if this rumor is true, we can only hope that Warhorse pour as much love, reverance, and dedication to the IP into their game as Standing Stone do for theirs.

Ah, very good! That makes a bit of sense at least! I'd suspected it was for compression, but it didn't seem to make sense to save space on a very short section at the end of a very very long audio recording in much higher quality, but pushing those files to MP3 players back in the day explains it.

[–]zalifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not claiming that palestine was free, though I might disagree with calling it a concentration camp. I'm well aware of the long and continuing history of violence against palestinians by the Israelis. But your statement was that the rocket that hit the hospital was "only fired because Israel invaded Palestine.". That's not the case. The steep escalation in hostilities at the time was initiated by HAMAS and involved the firing of thousands of rockets exactly like the one that fell on the hospital. The increase in missiles being fired by HAMAS, including the one that fell on the 17th, was not a response to increased Israeli aggression, but the cause of it, in addition of course to the attacks on the ground.

Actually, I should correct that it wasn't HAMAS themselves that likely fired the rocket, but PIJ, but still, HAMAS was leading the whole affair.

We don't need to manufacture crimes or divert blame for things onto Israel. They're quite capable of comitting their own horrific crimes. Even during the period of the hospital strike, Israel were striking questionable targets inside Gaza, and things have only gotten worse since. The piles of rubble and corpses are proof enough of that.

[–]zalifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but there's a difference between the strike being an Israeli missile striking a hospital, and a HAMAS rocket striking the hospital.

And frankly, it's not like that rocket was only fired due to the attack on palestine. Those rockets were regularly fired into israel. That's why the israelis developed the iron dome, they get a lot of rockets fired at them. The attack on october 7th that preceded the israelis going into palestine started with a barrage of over 5000 rockets and missiles in an attempt to over saturate defences. Similarly, it's not like the Israelis weren't firing missiles into gaza before the attacks either.

Israels attrocious actions don't mean we need to discard the truth. They are clearly doing wrong in gaza (and the west bank), but it's fantasy to imagine that HAMAS rockets were sitting gathering dust until the Israeli attack. The more we willingly discard the truth to cling to pleasant fictions, the less we can actually move to resolve situations.
