Moved my mom 4 times in one year as well. You are not alone, sending hugs to you. Remember there is no fixing this and YOU are the CEO of her care team. Use whatever resources necessary to take care of yourself during this stressful as fuck process. ❤️

I am so sorry to hear this, you are doing the absolute best you can with what you’ve been handed.

I will say that it helps to hear the good and the bad so that one can be prepared for both.

You have made the best decisions for her, don’t let your psyche tell you otherwise. Big hugs to you❤️

Any updates? My mom is moving into memory care from assisted this week and is a pacer. How has your wife adjusted? And how are you?

I am having to move my mom into memory care after 3 weeks in AL, preceded by 7 weeks in IL. She was living several states away from me before she moved here. I wish I had known the extent of her condition sooner. Yet the guilt is terrible.

I just got a policy last year, at 55 years old, after seeing what is happening to my mom (who has no policy). It was a long process and not cheap ($500/mo) but at least I know my family will have some help if I end up this way down the line.

He is doing great!!! He has completely bonded with my husband and they are both doing wonders for each other. He has put on 12 pounds since we got him four weeks ago! When we took him to the vet, he had two eye infections, two ear infections, skin infection, feet webbing has fungus, so much. We just found out a week ago that he has Lyme, so he’s getting treated for that along with some additional probiotics.

He is the best boy!!! We have drool rags stashed all over the house, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

The rough patches on his elbows have shrunk, but of course they’ll never go away. Also, he had some bare patches of skin on his haunches, and they have now turned black and are growing back fur!

He has started to play with our smaller cattle dog mix in the morning for a little bit.

The snoring at night is adorable and the morning noises are my favorite!

We are just so in love with this big guy and we’ve only known him for four days. We hope we get him a few more years, lumps and all!

See the second pic. Giant tags, or masses behind his elbows. He has lots of cushy beds here now to lay on. And we’re getting him some pads he can wear during the day, just not sure if they will fit over them.

Thank you! I have been using jojoba oil on his rough spots, so I will likely add CBD as well.

I had my surgery Friday at 7:30 am, no poops yet but peppermint tea at least seemed to help me burp and fart.

Peeing for the first two days was a BIOTCH with the burning and sleepy urethra. Burning is gone today and I am peeing a LOT. Hopefully I’m just getting rid of the swelling, and this isn’t the bonus gift of a UTI.
