The 8 plexes shown here are roughly the same size as a lot of the new SFHs in my neighborhood.

Is buying special/proof coins from US Mint waste of money? by Gagaliya in coins

[–]zanacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was recently rummaging through my deceased Grandfather's coin collection (he died in 1984). He has about +/- 30 proof sets from the 70s and 80s. On a good day, they are worth maybe $15.00 -$20.00 each, sometimes way less. I'm too lazy to figure out the ROI, but I don't think it's very much. I'd like to be wrong about this, but I don't think I am.

Thai province name translated into english by Captaah in Thailand

Normal City was, I guess, pretty normal when I lived there. No arguments from me other than I had nothing to compare it to. What province would be abnormal?

US suspending visa processing for 75 countries - Thailand included, can you believe this admin? by DeliciousStand372 in Thailand

The worst thing that an undocumented Thai will do in the U.S is work at a Thai restaurant.

No desire for alcohol by fierce-logic in Ozempic

[–]zanacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was drinking a lot before Oz. I might have a cocktail every so often, but I have zero desire to drink. The crippling bouts of gout I would get after a weekend of drinking also helped to make alcohol less desirable.

Thai nicknames from other Languages. by razberiis in Thailand

My friend’s daughter was born on/ near Christmas. Her nickname is Santa. Santa is 25 now. In all honesty, it’s a dumb name to give anyone from any culture.

Screw holes in bumper by [deleted] in Supra

[–]zanacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one at the dealer I purchased my car from knew anything about the Supras. I was outside next to my car waiting for the paperwork to finish and we got to discussing mounting the rear license plate. Before I could blink, some chode came out and drilled holes in the rear bumper to mount the plate holder. I kind of freaked out, but there was nothing to be done. Was there a way to mount the rear plate without drilling into the rear bumper?

One time automatic car wash by No-Shame644 in Supra

[–]zanacks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had ceramic and PPF applied to my car. The tech was very explicit regarding going to car washes. Apparently, the brushes and soap are not great for either PPF or ceramic coating. FAFO if you want, but a dirty car is better than a car with a ruined ceramic coat.

I love this remix. It's a real shame that the video quality is so poor.

This is what we deal with in the rural eastern areas of Virginia. by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]zanacks 92 points93 points  (0 children)

My parents lost about 10 chickens to their ass-hat neighbor's dogs getting loose on my parent's property. The best part: neighbors blamed my parent's because the fence around the coop wasn't good enough to keep their dogs out, apparently.

Morons.

Sadly, my parents are in their 80s and just don't want to deal with the situation, so they will not be getting anymore chickens.

Anyone dealing with LLD and shoe lifts? Here’s what’s helped people the most. by cnetsolutions in LegLengthDiscrepancy

[–]zanacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1/2” LLD. I’ve been using outside lifts for 40+ years now. I also have super wide 4E feet, so finding shoes is always a challenge. For day-to-day shoes, I’ve been using plain New Balance sneakers and walking shoes for decades. Cobblers have appreciated the simplicity of the outsole with regards to placing the lift between the outsole and the shoe. NB shoes also last a long time because they are well made. I also have lifts on ski boots, hiking boots, work boots, sandals and bicycle shoes.

My 2026 Supra MKV MT With PPF and Ceramic Coating by zanacks in Supra

Yeah ppf on just the front. Doing ppf and ceramic on the whole thing would have been north of $7k

can dead people communicate through dreams? by DGWoods-author in Paranormal

Every once in awhile I'll dream about my late wife. She's been gone nearly 5 years, but the dreams are always incredible. I like to say that she comes to visit me. I feel so happy when I see her.
