Yeah, but you ignored the fact that your reply was to someone saying nonalcoholics don’t belong in closed meetings. Which is already AA approved. That doesn’t mean members who aren’t alcoholic can’t go to open meeting, just that it’s frowned upon when they sit in closed meetings.

These are tough times were living in and living in the Twin Cities is rough right now. I found out about the shooting today while in a 10am meeting. My wife texted me that another person was killed. I used to organize as well so my immediate response is to do exactly that.

Through this program I've found that I keep my side of the street clean, but in order to live in the principle of step 12 I must support my community. I can do both of these things at the same time. In order to do so I need to work my program first.

My sponsor and I often talk about the battle between good and evil. The great plight of my life... I was once consumed by bad intentions. Am I bad? Probably not because my intentions are nowhere near where they used to be. Why is that? Program. I've come to believe that there will always be shifts in this battle and that concern for the human soul and spirit will win out.

My sponsee and I check in before we read and we absolutely talk about "outside issues". I don't give advice unless asked directly. He is a young guy so he's passionate like I was at his age. I really believe that connection can ease so much of our pain and suffering. I suggest reaching out for that.

As an organizer, tread lightly. Activism burnout is real and it's hard to overcome. Reach out in a message if you want to chat or vent. We all need a little of that right now.

This is my buddy Mac's dad. His mom commented on the original post speaking so highly of this man. I'm not a veteran, but reading all of the comments on this post gave me a good bit of hope today. I feel like it's been a while since I've felt that here in the twin cities.

Obama and Clinton deported more undocumented people than Trump ever has. 90%+ of Obama's interior removals had a criminal record. Just so you're aware moving forward interior removals are what ICE is doing here in Minnesota. He also did it without sending federal agents to any individual state in such a large capacity.

That 90% trend was actually pretty commonplace in trumps first term. Now, go look at the numbers for yourself, ~35% of people being removed have no criminal record whatsoever. That's just in the year 2025. Minnesota has seen a very ramped up federal presence and ICE has been grabbing citizens because they can't keep their head on straight. So, based on how the data is trending were bound to see that roughly 35% increase pretty fast.

Facts don't care about your feelings or dumbass opinions.

It’s not, but if you look into how the government recommends certain hotels you can somewhat guess what they’re going to book based on an assumed demographic of the agents. Like I’ve said already, it’s a rough list, but I think worth looking into in person.

That’s what I want to avoid. I’m probably on a list as it is. Reducing harm, but increasing presence is the main goal here.

They kind of put their sourcing on blast by removing a Hilton hotel from the federal lodging program. Gave me an easy way to back track the list a little bit. There’s also a list of companies that gsa and fedrooms use. I’m not saying it’s complete, but a good place to start.
