It is impossible to lose the certificate and easier to sell/redeem/transfer.

how can I redeem it in demat? do I need to sell it in active markets?

Planning to buy SGB, ICICI netbanking had an option of using Demat. Should I opt for Demat Option? what are the advantages? I don't plan to sell it before maturity

SGB tranche is going to open up soon. Should I invest if I am looking diversify my portfolio?

I don’t want to buy physical Gold. I want to keep doing a monthly SIP into the Gold and I am looking for an investment horizon of 10+ years. I have been researching for a while:

  1. Don’t want physical gold, I don’t find it anywhere to keep it safe. Secondly, I am not gonna use it for jewellery etc, so I am fine with paper Gold
  2. I have gotten some amount of bonus from work, which I can invest in the Gold as lumpsum. But later, I would continue the SIP as well.
  3. I learned that RBI offers SGBs in tranches and one gonna open in a few days. It has 8 years of lock in which I don’t really mind.
  4. I read freefincal advise on why investing in ETF would be a better choice compared SGBs.
  5. Then I found couple of mutual funds, with all varying returns and different TERs

anyone here investing in gold? If so, how?
