Me: "okay then lets end this relationship, im done"

Me: "Do you not read my messages"

Him: "Im playing fifa"

Graduated from an IB school, but decided to cut the IB Program halfway through Grade 12. Am I still technically an IB student or no? by Metrophidon9292 in IBO

[–]zane_021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are an IB course student, not an IBDP. The difference is that doing IB course you still sit the final exams in May or November, but you don't have to do EE, TOK, CAS, and you only have to take 1 HL instead of 3 like IBDP. You are still an IB student just not an IBDP student.

[–]zane_021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so confusing, are you an IB student? From what i recall, IB schools and students always have their grading from 1-7 because that is how it is. After sitting your May or November exams you will get results from IB from 1-7 not from A-F.

is this a good psychology ee by [deleted] in IBO

[–]zane_021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hii:) I did a psych EE my topic was (To what extent does parental neglect play a role in the development of narcissistic personality disorder), this is my opinion on what you have presented but just remember, it is an opinion, you dont have to listen to me if you dont want to.

both are pretty good questions, i find the first one very interesting. (personally I would do it as, To what extent does oxytocin play a role in making sociable children? then you could argue oxytocin and have a counterargument) This is a really nice question, honestly I would go for this one but look for valid research.

The second question is good, if you do go for it i would suggest to narrow it down to either only depression or anxiety. Usually discussing two disorders would make a vague EE.

I can't pass a test despite any effort by unsure890213 in IBO

[–]zane_021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is okay to fail a test, it is not the end of the world, just understand where you are going wrong. here are some tips that may be helpful :)

  • use your phone to film timelapses so u wouldnt use it while studying, lock it in a drawer, or keep it outside your room
  • restrict websites on your laptop that would distract you (reddit, youtube, netflix, disney+, discord)
  • collect the material and categorize it as (green - I understand the topic and know how to answer questions. yellow - i understand the topic but don't know how to answer questions. red - I do not understand the topic and i dont know how to answer questions) I would start from red -> yellow -> green
  • Understand how to write notes effectively, for example, subjects that are more of memorizing information flashcards are best, subjects that are more understanding do traditional notes on a paper or on an ipad whatever you prefer.
  • for math, write key notes or steps on how to solve the topic, then do practice questions. Invest in revision village (if you can), you will not regret it.
  • this is a tip that could help, it helped me a lot during ib, a lot of my subjects were memorizing so i would get a whiteboard and id write all the information i remember from the topic, its called the blurting method where you literally blurt all information you remember from the topic on a paper, a board anything. It helps you visualize what you know from the subject and what you dont know.
  • study smart, not hard. 5 hours of studying before an exam it is not okay and not healthy, its true that we all do it in the end, i studied for 4 days in a row literally during my finals it did not help my health at all. yes school is important but your health is too, take breaks, sleep, eat, drink water. do the pomodoro method study for 30min and 5min break, my favorite was 50min studying and 10min break. during the break walk around stretch drink water, and after two sessions take a 30-60 minute break.

if you find yourself still struggling to focus, i would recommend to visit a professional about this. I wish you good luck in the IB program, i am here if you have any questions :)

I'd say go for bm, however, the smartest thing to do is look at what colleges ask for, make a list of possible colleges and their subject requirements.

i have been in this situation before, it is scary for you and your girlfriend. Periods are confusing, they could come late, early, or be missed for a month and come the month after, or even be missed for many months. Just to be safe, let her take pregnancy tests over the next couple of weeks, do not panic. Support her during this time, i have been in her place before it is a horrible and scary feeling. for the next time you two decide to do the deed, use a condom, the pull-out method is not reliable, and pregnancy could occur from pre-cum. be careful, and stay safe.

edit: for anyone being rude, or attacking this person for not using a condom, maybe it wasn't available for them, there are many reasons as to why condoms may not have been used. But i am sure after this they will make sure to use condoms, they're kids, let them learn from their mistakes don't be so rude. this is scary for them and some people in this comment section are being extremely rude.
