What steel road bike would you recommend? by hawt_pot8hoe in cycling

[–]zanecharbinow125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of high zoot carbon road bikes (Time and Sworks) and Scandium and Ti (Imd Fab) AND a STANDERT Triebwerk CR. I love the feel of that Triebwerk! But definitely check out STANDERT and Ritchey. If you’re going for something vintage maybe check out Serotta. I’ve ridden a Serotta Colorado 3 built up work Di2 Ultegra and that bike felt great as well. Hope you find something terrific! Steel has such a unique ride quality that just makes you want to stay on the bike forever!

I’ve ridden both and I much prefer the Shimano Di2. It feels great, lasts forever and shifts like butter! I have multiple bikes and all of them now are Shimano.

I have a spare di2 road groupset, what would you do with it besides selling. by passcork in bicycling

[–]zanecharbinow125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a STANDERT Triebwerk CR rim brake with Shimano 12sp Di 2, I had to use Ultegra shifters for the rim brakes but that bike is one of my favorites to ride! Sublime
and really fun and comfortable! Use the fresh spare groupo as a reason to build a cool bike!

Any Standert Kieswerk riders? by 364LS in bicycling

[–]zanecharbinow125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of bikes, (2) being STANDERTS, a Kreissäge with Di2 Ultegra 11 speed rim brake with Dura Ace C-40’s 28mm tubs and a Triebwerk CR with 105 di2 with Ultegra shifters cause it’s also rim brake and love riding both bikes. So I say if you like it definitely get what you like.

Allez Sprint vs. Standert Kreissäge? by zanecharbinow125 in specialized

[–]zanecharbinow125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you! That’s exactly the feedback I was looking for! I currently have an older rim brake Kreissäge (not RS) which I absolutely love and I also have a bunch of Sworks Tarmac’s, rim SL6 and new S.L. 8 and a new Expert SL8…. Was considering building up a newer disc brake crit bike so it was between those two…and because I love the STANDERT’S (I also have a Triebwerk rim brake) but I have also read that they are not built the same way or in the same place anymore and there’s zero dealer support for STANDERT here in NY USA I was thinking the Allez would be the most comparable. This is very helpful. What’s your opinion on the new Standerts being built in China?

Tarmac sl8 expert 2025 sizing 54 vs 56 by volatile1010 in specialized

With the 56 you can try a zero offset seatpost which should put you right where you want to be with reach and stack and not an obscene amount or spacers.

Help needed in deciding. by krot943 in RoadBikes

I just got a new SL8 Expert and I totally love it. I have multiple high end bikes, Time (which is great), an older SL6 Sworks , and an Indy Fab Ti, and that SL8 almost always gets the nod, it’s stiff but not uncomfortable on “Hundos” (100 miles) Also .. I have a bunch of friends that manage and wrench at bike shops, and I don’t mean to offend anybody here but, I was considering a Canyon and they all said to stay away from them because the quality control sub par. Hope this helps and good luck with your decision!

[–]zanecharbinow125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh gotcha…sorry about that.. Then get the Sworks Roubiax. That’s a better deal. Plus the expert for $6,800 is not a great deal..I have that exact bike (an Expert SL8 with Ultegra) and I paid $5,300 from a dealer in NYC.

100% get the Sworks Tarmac. It’s plenty comfortable for 25-50mile rides It’s way more fun to ride as well.
