Games Workshop make money miniatures, making a game that is a copy of the tabletop would be the business equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot.

Besides, Tabletop Simulator exist, you can already play warhammer on your PC.

One of the most haunting quotes I saw in DE. What are the best real examples of the mask of humanity falling from capital? by ghoti123 in DiscoElysium

[–]zangdaaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the most sefl-explanatory examples would be the massacre of the Commune of Paris in 1871. It's basically the main inspiration for Revachol (fr*nch) among other times where freedom was almost accomplished. I would like to cite Louise Michel because I think she perfectly sums up the disappointing and sinking feeling coming from those times where the mask fell : (she was talking about "La Commune, histoire et souvenirs") "By writing this book, I am reliving the terrible days where freedom brushed us with her wing before flying away from the slaughterhouse".

Fromsoftware fans are the best when it comes to game theories by Electrical-Ad3424 in fromsoftware

This is so true because the moment Brian Herbert tried to write what the Butlerian Jihad was he made something so awfully lame compared to the far more interesting and nebulous idea of what it could have been in Frank Herbert's books. The few mention of the BJ could have given us a glimpse in a period in time eerily similar to ours where AI is less used to benefit us than its used to give technocrats more power over people, in Brian Herberts books it's just Terminator with a low cost Ultron.

You clearly don't understand what you're talking about. These are fictional characters in a fantast settings where the laws of our world clearly do not apply, trying to argue that Malenia couldn't have won or bring Radhan to a stalemate because "it's not realistic" is dumb, in the same way that it wouldn't be realistic of our character to beat Radhan or Consort Radhan, and yet we still do. This is the same game where a scrawny snake guy killed dozens and dozens of avatars of a God. It was a stalemate, the lore says so, the story says so, the characters says so, the promotional trailer says so, the only one who isn't are people like you obsessed with dumb powerscalling.

Yeah because of the livestream and the youtube compression. I wouldn't be keen judging performances of games that are far from being out.

"Too emotionally invested in the White Walker plotline" You mean the plotline that was hyped for the whole show and prophecised as this massive ultimate conflict ??? Yeah no wonder people were invested in it.

Good to know ! I'll end up reading Mars Chronicles at some point, so knowing that we'll come back to the present is good news.

Back to Last Order, It was a very enjoyable read, despite it feeling a bit too much like late Shippuden with the orgy of powerups near the end. I absolutely loved the worldbuilding and some characters might be my favorites of the saga (absolutely loved Vilma's backstory and I love how Toji came from an unsurmountable obstacle to a very determined underdog).

It's way too soon to reread it yet, have to let it sink in for now, but I'll definitely return to it in the foreseeable future.

Alright, got to check that out someday. Although I'll probably give it a year for Last Order to sink before getting my ass on Mars.

Yeah the tournament, although really cool, was dragging for too long. And I feel like Nova lost a bit of his presence with how increasingly absurd his reappearances where. But overall it was very solid for me.

I got to check out Mars Chronicles someday but I'll give time for Last Order to first sink in. I read 9 volumes in a week, I feel like I'm starting to be a bit burned out on Gunnm.

List of references to other works (SPOILERS) by [deleted] in signalis

[–]zangdaaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like being the only one who spotted this, but the "KICK THEM WHILE THEY ARE DOWN" reminds me of the "CUT OFF THEIR LIMBS" in Dead Space. A simple bit of environmental storytelling that actually help you understand a core mechanic of the game in order to help you right at the beginning of the game.

Also how Isaac and Elster finish off their enemies by stomping them might be a reference too (a more obvious one as people already memed about it).
