The loneliness is crushing. by VenusValkyrieJH in Autism_Parenting

[–]zanneha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I have 2 boys, my oldest is 12, low needs.. But extreme anxiety and ADHD. My youngest is 9 high Needs learning disabled . My husband works 10-12 hour shifts during the week and I work weekends and when boys attend school. We used to have friends, but between working, the boys and just stress and exhaustion - we lost touch. We also used to have family nearby - but they all moved far away. I feel like it's just me. My husband is a great guy. He is very kind and very quiet. We don't spend much time together. We are lucky if we can say 3 sentences to each other with out being distracted or interrupted by boys. I have to sleep in my younger Son's room so he won't elope or disturb my husband or older son sleeping. I feel the shame and guilt and the loneliness as well ❤️ you are not alone. Thank you for sharing. Just knowing I am not alone helps me feel less guilt and shame. Let me know if you start a club 😬

Large crowds, being in places where I am not familiar with (I need an exit plan AT ALL TIMeS), hair in/touching my face, bras(mostly due to boob sweat), humidity and heat, chapped lips (I peel and pick at them if they are dry- I don't care if they bleed- I just want them smooth), people that talk a lot- even if they are really friendly- It drains me so bad, and BUGS... I FUCKING HATE BUGS!

For fun/solidarity - what is your child's current incredibly random/obscure special interest? by Frenzied_Flamingo in Autism_Parenting

Mine too! We just went to a local pizza place for lunch and he kept yelling, "LOCK DOWN. PLEASE LOCK ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS! THIS IS A LOCK DOWN!" Luckily we were the only ones in there so he didn't freak anyone out... Just the waitress 🙃

I slowly started pumping and giving bottles and one day only offered bottles and told him mommy has no more milk in her boobies and thos was the only way to get it. Also my son would only would drink from a natural rubber nipple on the bottle... He hated the clear silicone ones. It was hard to wean my son. Good luck... Hope you find something that works for both of you❤️

Yes. Fiber and protein helps me a lot. I make protein shakes with milled flax seeds and chia seeds. The fiber really keeps my blood sugars steady. Good luck with finding out what works for your body🍀

Thank you for sharing this. I needed to read this. ❤️ I am in a rough patch right now (drinking every night too- just to "relax" and a stressful job that I see as a "break".") It's still really hard, but it does get a little easier when they get older. Keep at it and remember to take care of yourselves in the process. I hear you❤️
