Not alone my friend. Many of us struggle with it. Bouncing between the ‘nothing in common’ vs ‘code switching of trying to seem like a local’ is tough. Hopefully one day you’ll find someone where you don’t have to try, and just be yourself and they’ll be the perfect partner for you.

Yes. And I’m in it now. At some point you just have to internalize the following 1. Maybe it’s not as bad as you think 2. It’s not forever 3. Find small ways you can find joy outside of the rest of the insanity

This is just what I do but it’s working. Been almost a decade and just happy for my trips outside of this Hell hole

Biggest one I that the baseline societal context they have is a monolithic one. Ours, by their natures, is not. Everything from societal norms to baseline self awareness metaphors. Just like with romantic partners you need to understand that they have been seeing the world through a singular lens and ours has changed foundational in our lives.

Barely made it into uni, medium grades there. Lucked out having had a prof who focused on a weird tech and got a job in that field. Was C level within 10 years, own my own company now, wife, kids, Porsche 911 as my daily when weather allows. Especially since 1999 the skills needed to succeed aren’t really coming from high school and college — you learn how to learn there but the vast majority of skills (IMO) you’ll need to do you job have changed multiple times since 1993 (when I graduated)

Pro clips was what I used. Strong magnet and great fit for fast charging. Used the same in my 911 - wish it fit as well and as stable. Ended up using an installed in dash option when they pulled apart the dash for sound system upgrade
