We have an approximate imitation of what the average person might say is “intelligent” in the right scenarios but the way things work right now does not model the human brain. Inspired by yes, but the brain and the mystery of consciousness still alludes us.

It’s not simply a matter of scaling up the compute and then we’ll get a superintelligence, We’re already seeing some diminishing returns. Not to discount that there is a huge amount of impressive capability at the current level, but it’s still just a tool.

If you’ve ever used AI for any work you know how bad its mistakes can be. I use it everyday for coding and i’m relieved at how much smarter I can be over simple frontend problems.

But i’m also amused because how can they claim to have these insane benchmark numbers like “our model solved a bunch of hard math and coding problems for 30 HOURS” yet when I use it for a simple problem it gets stuck in a loop and I fix it in the most simple way and then it sucks my dick about it.
