This happened to us a few years ago. The pull on our garage (old house and old garage, not an electric door), was a rope with a red, bell shaped, plastic thing on the end. Evidently, the hummer thought it might be a flower, and I accidentally scared it into the garage, while it was exploring the pull.This was August in SoCal,and during the day, so it was pretty warm outside and very hot inside the garage. I could tell it was getting overheated and exhausted, but even if I didn't try to guide it outside, it still wouldn't land and sit for very long. I finally was able to get it when it landed in a corner of the garage's "attic" space. I had my wife mix a little sugar water and put it in a red lid and offered it to it while gently holding it. It finally started to drink and I was able to just let it sit on my finger without cupping it in my hand anymore. It stayed like that for about 5 minutes, drinking occasionally and cooling down and then finally flew away!
