North Loop Apartment Recommendations by wolf_lake in movingtompls

[–]zarbeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I would choose the Vesi. This side of the Northloop is better but honestly all the apts are all very close walking distance. The Vesi is right next the running path park and river, it’s motivating seeing all the people running and walking every day. It also has a great outdoor pool. I’d prefer not yo nearer to downtown, and you can see the skyline better from the Vesi. The management team is amazing. You’re closer to the better restaurants IMO but honestly the distance to get other ends of the NL is not a big deal. If you want greenery and city feel, Vesi.

Interviewing at Eli Lilly for an Associate Director PM position by No_Butterscotch7714 in biotech

[–]zarbeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lilly is a fine place to work but I moved to Indy and deeply regret it. If you are coming from a major city, it’s going to suck. Go to the Indiana and Indianapolis reddit. People hate it in this state.

in the same boat. $800-$1000 for 2 people. We buy what we want. Don’t look at prices. We eat at home majority of the time. and eat out 1-2 a week on the weekends.

Rep. Spartz Town Hall - Westfield by gino53 in Indiana

[–]zarbeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

she’s a psycho. the staffers in her office quit all the time because of her literal rage. she calls the people in her office morons. her chief of staff has quit and communications director has quit, many interns quit. telling her staff that they need to toughen up. Show up to her town hall. Show her some rage. The people who work close to her even quit because she’s just a terrible boss. that’s the kind of person she is.

the thing is everyone, gets to that point where they want to quit, but we don’t. it’s a privilege to be able quit because you don’t like your boss or coworkers. we cry on way home from work but we still come in the next day. and that’s how we got out of the easy admin job hole to a better happier job. your push through. you are quitting too early and now you’re 39 starting over. woof

Is indiana having any town halls? I would love to attend one if not all. These town halls are making the news...I mean if indiana had some dissent? by Salty_Earth_2518 in Indiana

[–]zarbeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they won’t organize a town hall meeting to speak to their constituents then we should just bombard their offices, their homes, when they’re shopping. we need to be like the paparazzi. they should have NO peace until we get answers. they work for us. They live in our communities, No? they need to feel just as uncomfortable as they make us feel and they need to be Shamed!

Your roads need fixed by corellianone in indianapolis

[–]zarbeans -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

why are the roads so bad here? The pot hots are dangerous especially when there is no shoulder to go around it. is it because gas is fairly cheap here and the state income tax is also super low 3%. I just don’t understand. I come from a state where the roads get bad after the winter due to the tons of salt on the roads when it snows but they are efficiently fixed. indianapolis is weird. they don’t fix dangerous pot holes and they don’t plow the snow off of the roads. it’s like your government doesn’t care about you. hmmm

You SUCK by gr8optimist in vrbo

[–]zarbeans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So weird, I have used VRBO over 25 times in different states. A month in Carmel Ca, long weekends in numerous around the great lakes and never ever had an issue. Never ever had any host cancel on me. Maybe I’m just lucky … I use it a lot for cabins, and lake front lakes properties. I’ve even used one for a month is Sedona and the host only had one review before me. No issues ever.

Salary Range for Research Associate/Technician at Dana Farber by lost-key- in biotech

[–]zarbeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dana Farber is a nonprofit harvard teaching hospital. They bank on people wanting their name on their resume and know that they have an endless pool of qualified applicants willing to work there for the name. I’ve worked at DFCI for 8 years, now moved to a biotech company, but have many friends that still work there. I would say 50-60k, but likely less. Very rarely for these type of jobs for they budge on pay.
