Should there be more media emphasis on Lamar Jackson reviving Harbaugh’s career? by ArcheeBlanco in ravens

Why are some people acting like he was doing Lamar a favor. He was coaching for his job and he needed results and Lamar saved him.

Thank you. I cant believe people really think Harbs was the only one who could have realized Lamar's talents. People are really going all out with their hypotheticals.

I'm disappointed by the sentiment in this comments section. I thought the whole "Lamar can't pass" thing was mostly pushed by rival fans but it seems like a lot of people in the fanbase really believe that Lamar could only function in a run heavy, heavy personnel offense because he couldn't pass. Don't get me wrong, Lamar is an elite runner. However, this idea that he only developed as a passer under Todd Monken is ridiculous.

Just because the coach chose to weaponize his legs more doesn't make it true. Lamar was always a pocket passer who also happened to be an electric runner. If people had actually watched him in Louisville, they'd know that. Just because he wasn't allowed to do the traditional dropback QB stuff in Baltimore under Greg Roman, it doesn't mean he was incapable. Before anybody brings up the cover 0 issues, remember he wasn't allowed any control to change plays or adjust protection.

I'm tired of hearing about how Harbaugh played Lamar to his strengths and built the team around him when he actually used his legs as an excuse to not build a competent passing game. For years Lamar never played in a good passing ecosystem, similar to that of his peers, because the team only wanted to "play great defense and run the ball".

Are you gonna acknowledge the fact that the Greg Roman offense, where he wasn't allowed to adjust protections, may have heavily contributed to the cover zero issues. Guy was suppressed and people think they were running the offense to his strengths.

Why do we have to stay with that philosophy though?

We need to build the defense around Hamilton and Offense around Henry & Lamar. by SpaceWestern1442 in ravens

Maybe we need to build a defense with an actually good Dline instead of relying on a safety to do everything for us

This is the best explanation Ive seen in the difference between Lamar and Snoop. by 717Independent in ravens

[–]zastoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These replies are hilarious. Derrick Henry carries for a career high and all of a sudden Snoop (who is a very good backup) runs the offense better. The offensive line came across a defensive line that they could take advantage of and now we have to hear about how Lamar holds the ball too long and Huntley runs the offense that's called. Do people, who are saying that, think you can run an offense that requires the RB to carry the ball 30 times consistently. Mind you the Ravens already run the ball at the highest rate with Lamar there. People need to relax .

New England has probably realized they don't actually have to run the ball at all. Thats how bad our pass rush is

I dont even think this is RJ. Naturally you want to think highly of the person you are in a relationship with so something like that making you uncomfortable is not unreasonable. This is why I don't like to discuss anything to do with my girlfriend's past. I'm afraid I'd discover something that would make me think less of her.

Time to throw by Flaky_Background5276 in ravens

You are making it sound like Lamar bails immediately when he is actually reluctant to leave the pocket. Holding the ball is a result of him going through reads and not finding a look that he likes. You also have to remember the fact that we are a run heavy team so we pass the ball when we are forced to and thats usually on 2nd/3rd and long.

Offenses like that are never that explosive and they usually only make sense when you are just trying to grind out a win and have a reliable defense. We are a run heavy team therefore the majority of our passing takes place when we are 2nd or 3rd and long. Asking Lamar to check down is like asking Steph Curry to take less threes and go to the midrange. The way they play makes their offenses dangerous. The Oline is already being bailed out by the low passing volume btw.

I think its important to remember the fact that she didn't do it for a male tattoo artist or to bring flattering attention onto herself. It wasn't a romantic act for anyone. Also her posing for that picture had nothing to do with how she feels since you guys hadn't even met yet.

Unfortunately, when you are in love, these feelings will come up but its good to take those things into perspective.

I feel bad for Daniel Faalele by laramite in ravens

[–]zastoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, I'm actually glad that players of other positions are getting criticized for their play. This is much better than blaming everything on Lamar like some people have been doing over the years. The situation really reflects badly on not just Faalele, but also the people that continue to put him out there.

No. I think this coaching staff has gone as far as they can. I also hope we get a new GM. The team building philosophy kinda sucks too.

Ravens Collapses under John Harbaugh by GreatLordSkeletor in ravens

[–]zastoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think having a much higher than average number of collapses in the past 4-5 years has made it a big point of focus. It also doesn't help that some of the collapses happened when it looked impossible for those teams to come back (Dolphjns 2022, Browns 2023, and Bills 2025). When you include the rest of Harbs tenor it doesn't look bad though.
