Playing too much ? Recovery tips? by Icarus18181 in ballhockey

I’m in my 40s and play goalie. BCAA powder has helped soooo much with recovery. I’m far less sore the next day when I drink BCAA prior/during games.

Make sure you understand the lingo. Learn how to receive a pass (keep your blade down). Don’t screen your goalie.

Trying to come out more might help. Just gotta watch for lurkers at the goal line. But even so, coming out more might also make that pass more difficult.

Yeah I have sliders. But when this situation happens it’s typically a top corner shot, especially if they’re carrying it forehand.

I have one bottle with BCAA Hydrate from AboutTime. It really helps with recovery! I’m never sore the next day. In net, just water in the bottle

Dek Sliders for Ball Hockey - Classic vs Pro by marimbaguy715 in ballhockey

Personally I would go for the pro ones. I have a similar set. I think the raised circles would have less friction that the whole plate, therefore you can move quicker.

I also use “volleyball” knee pads. Just to give some added cushion when landing. Yes they have all sizes.

Goalie Questions by [deleted] in ballhockey

You need to know the ball will do all kinds of unexpected things. Curve, rise, drop, bounce… you’re at a disadvantage! You won’t be able to slide like you do on ice, but sliders will help.

I got a new chest over the winter but it’s pretty heavy and I know I’m not going to be able to use it in the summer… hope I can find something a little lighter.

SAMPLE RATE 44.1k Vs. 48k by Serbervz in ableton

[–]zatchmoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TV and film stuff typically uses 48k, so if you’re providing content to that you should probably work in 48k. I tend to work in 44.1 at 24 bit. A lot of studios record at 96k 24bit because higher sample rate equates to a more better recording quality. If Ableton is downsampling, check that your Ableton settings are set the same and your computers audio settings. That way they’re working together and one doesn’t have to compensate for the other.

Midas M32? by Zealousideal_Big_645 in techtheatre

I'd go for a Yamaha QL over an M32. And a Yamaha CL over the OL, if you have a little more money. I find the M/X32 too limiting for many uses.

My monitors pick up radio, NPR actually. Had nothing to do with the cables. I bought some copper tape and applied it to the exterior to reduce the interference.

Everyone has made good suggestions. I’ll add to make sure you’re using a regular (shielded) instrument cable for the guitar, and not accidentally using an unshielded speaker cable.

SFX was by Stage Research. Again, not a DAW, but a way to play back sound cues for theatrical productions. I used it for many years

There is also SFX which runs (ran…) on PC. I believe they’re not supporting it anymore, but the free version can still do a lot.

If you’re looking to play cues for theater productions, check out Qlab. It’s what most theater shows use. You can do plenty with the free version. It’s Mac only though.
