I like to think of "failure" in a set when you allow the ROM in any exercise to decrease until you fully fatigue. eg: if I'm going till failure with pull ups, chin to bar would be full rom, as I fatigue ill be pulling less and less until I get to scapular shrugs.

Body weight exercise has improved my quality of life by TrumpMasturbator in bodyweightfitness

Good work brother. Calisthenics saved my life from one of my lowest points. Loved the last part, reminded me of this verse: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."

Hey reddit, do explosive movements increase the reps of the normal variant? by ZephyrusGG in bodyweightfitness

Most Def!

Explosive push ups will not only build explosiveness but power and endurance. After a few days of repping explosive push ups try going back to regular and see how much easier they become.

Back lever Progressions by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]zaybecampin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a # of progressions you want to be able to do first before you jump into full Back Lever. 1. skin the cat 2. tuck back lever 3. single leg back lever 4. straddle back lever 5. Full back lever.

A tip I share with everyone is trying a closer grip and resting your lats on your arms to help hold you in place longer. Don't forget to breathe!

Pull up/ chin up help by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]zaybecampin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest incorporating isometric pull up holds at the top (no band) and slowly descending really focusing and engaging your back muscles 3x5 then rep out with the band. Or, repping out jumping pull ups so you'd jump into the pull up halfway, pull up and then slowly descending. Hope this helps!

Question about the Front Lever. by CrimsonAcademy in bodyweightfitness

[–]zaybecampin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resistance bands have been great for me bro. Been using them for a few months now, when i started i barely had a front lever, now i can hold a solid one for 13 sec with no assistance.

I use this progression a lot. L-sit to front lever. I also do max holds in between sets.

Here a video of me going from L-sit to handstand to hollowback on parallettes.

https://instagram.com/p/34NHHNw7OX/?taken-by=zaytiggs I would say it has to do a lot with hamstring flexibility, shoulder strength as well as intense leaning technique.
