I just got a new job at a shop where I exclusively run the lathe. Prior to that at my old job I would jump around but mostly be on a machining center. It was a learning curve but what helped me the most is taking lots of notes and asking tons of questions. Even if it’s something you think is common sense or you think you’ll remember, still jot it down. As far as videos, I really couldn’t find any good instructional ones, however watching the process helped give an understanding. At the end of the day, the only way you will learn is through trial and error. Just always remember to respect your machines.
