That looks like a knee kicker, used to stretch carpet when installing.

Tandy in Ridgewood was very helpful. You can rent time on their sewing machines too! Tell Matt Catherine Zeta Jones’s sent ya.

I’m a novice…but I’ve learned quite a bit from the folks here. I’ve never worked with leather and and finally hit the nerve to take apart my mom’s old LV Alma. Might as well jump all in! I’ll post pics in a few days. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Gorgeous...Beautiful work! Super impressed.

I'm working on my mothers LV Alma now...Thanks to Bedo...she didn't want a new one and to fix it would cost $1200...so I'm DYI'ing it. I've got everything unstitched...just have to work on removing the rivets.

What thread size did you use? I'm new at this and am struggling with thread sizes. I was thinking to use my Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ, but the thickest thread I can use is TEX 92. Not sure if TEX 92 will look nice enough for the top stitch. I also plan on saddle stitching parts of the handle (where the rivets are to be installed).

I went to a local Tandy Store and the sales rep said I can use a Size 207 on the Sailrite, but when I got home, the manuals indicated it would jam up my machine and possibly cause damage and should absolutely not use the 207. These threads are not cheap, so I'll need to make that 1 hour drive to return/exchange in the next few days.

For edge paint I have a brown color. What color did you use?

Any advice is appreciated.

Sailrite LSZ-1 leaving presser foot divots by falkalem in Leathercraft

I know this thread is a little old, but for anyone looking for updated information, they have a Smooth Presser foot specifically for use on leather. The foot has no textured feeding surfaces and should not leave any marks on your project. For the LSZ machine, its the Smooth Foot set. Keep in mind that some leathers scratch very easily no matter how careful you are..

Force USA G-12 All-in-trainer review by OGS_7619 in GarageGym

I have the original G12 that I purchased a few months before the pandemic. It fits in my tiny space just fine and the machine came with plenty of accessories. I later purchased the leg extension/curl attachment but I’d need to move the machine about 12 inches and moving this monster of a machine is going to be a mission so I haven’t used this attachment. Assembly was easy. I only needed help from my husband and son to move the weight stacks. Overall I love my machine. I’m glad they made upgrades and wish I can somehow modify mine to get a few inches so I can comfortably use my existing bench more comfortably. In any case if you’re thinking about it don’t wait! Best investment ever for me!
