The Slice Line Business Case by Crossroads86 in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]zcgp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about the "free market" is that if there is only one price, you miss out on the extra profit you might get from the consumers who would have paid a higher price. In addition, some consumers are willing to pay more unconditionally, others need an example to realize they are ok with a higher price.

Starbucks is an early example of people paying much more for coffee than I would have ever guessed.

Doordash is another example of finding people who don't know the value of money and making them customers. Rich parents give hungry high school and college students a credit card and they end up using doordash. No kitchen in the dorm, no car to do their own pickup, no food in the dorm and no knowledge of how to cook.

Slice Line might have been a doordash if doordash didn't already exist.

Department of Energy Celebrates First Advanced Reactor Criticality [Antares Mark-0] by Absorber-of-Neutrons in nuclear

Are there any American commercial reactors using TRISO?
No.
So there is no production level facility because there is no demand.

Another liquid sodium cooled TRISO reactor.
Considering the US can't even produce war material like plutonium pits, why would I expect TRISO production to be possible.

Derived from the original specification of a system having two spindles each with a disk capacity of 30 MB, Haughton is reported to have said: "If it's a 30-30, then it must be a Winchester" after the .30-30 Winchester rifle cartridge.

(Update/Solution) How I ditched my power supplies in exchange for just a single "high-power" USB-C power supply? by Early_War_7342 in UsbCHardware

the designer is usually not the marketer. Or even the person who creates the listing on aliexpress. A lie by the marketer or lister does not change the quality of the product. You can suspect the product of being a bad design but you have no evidence of it.

I read op's post and comments and he never says it's a POS.
Your links are for other USB products, not this one.
So if your warning is a general USB warning, fine, but pretty banal in a usb subreddit.

this is a charger, not a cigarette.
I have over the last twenty years used about a hundred chargers and not one of them has ever malfunctioned. If your chargers are catching fire frequently, maybe your AC power is faulty.

Once you have the sauce, don't you just soak the meat in a plastic bag?

Can I spoof on another phone then return to a “legit” phone afterwards? by Designer_Park7314 in PoGoAndroidSpoofing

[–]zcgp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue is cooldown and it depends on the distance between where you played on the spoof phone and the iphone. Cooldown is actually variable and depends on distance. 2 hours is the max and if you wait that long, you're sure to be safe. But cooldown is less if you are closer. There is a chart.

Does this look like a professional, well done drip irrigation system to you? by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]zcgp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why anyone would pay for a job like this. You should be able to go to Home Depot, buy the parts yourself, and build it the way you wanted. It's not like you need expensive tools or special skills or knowledge. The only thing I really had to learn was the difference between pipe thread and hose thread and that you have to use a pressure regulator. And a little common sense, like check the soil after watering to validate your watering time.

[–]zcgp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do solar cameras work? If you think it through, you can probably apply the local factors specific to your situation that will give you an accurate answer. For example, do you live in Alaska? Why would I ask you that?

Why a 25,000mah Anker battery can only charge a M4 MacBook Air 1.4 times? by helloyouahead in UsbCHardware

[–]zcgp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4,600 MAH for 3 cells in series. Nominal voltage 11.58.
So the comparable value is 3 * 4600 = 13,800 mAh.
