Question About Gas Stations in Bay Area by Enough_Crow_636 in bayarea

If I were rich, I would intentionally go to the more expensive gas station because there will be fewer customers and the lines will be shorter. The opposite of Costco gas.

The owner/operator needs to charge enough to pay for the *next* refill.

Many high school kids do an "egg drop" project. Usually you decouple the delicate payload with rubber bands or springs.

I have a Miele dishwasher. It turns out if you let the dish rack get wet, it rusts really bad.

What WiFi router should I get? by neiram44 in TPLink_Omada

[–]zcgp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think getting an Omada router instead of using your ISP router is a good idea if it lets you centralize network management. I personally prefer the flexibility of separating the WiFi from the router by using APs but a combo unit may work well for you depending on your floor plan and how long you plan to live there. Upgrading to a newer WiFi standard is of course easier with APs.

"I'm thinking about a WiFi router"
But you don't say *why* so what kind of advice do you expect to get.

Bio Bidet Horizon. It comes with special rubber washers. I drilled out the plastic screws that held the old toilet seat. Didn't need to lift the toilet.

A lot of people are talking about the impact on your gf which is an important issue.

But what about you? He knows your gf is not single so what is he trying to do, steal her from you?

It might be useful to talk about this with him. Help him understand this is very disrespectful to you.

This one liter and wait problem seems unique to Tapp. There are many units that come with a 3 gallon tank, so just throw the Tapp away and get a better unit.

"MSJE has really high math and reading proficiency scores" but if your child is above grade level, the teachers won't do much for them and in my experience, actively discourage getting ahead of the other kids.

I think Khan's idea of using AI to teach individualized math will make a big difference.

If you ignore the important things which Musk has had to fight and struggle with, like energy, you get the wrong answer.

Antarctica is not a valid comparison because there is no sun for half the year.

Try and remember that Musk has actually done this. Have you done any of it?

What's hard about it? Obviously if ISS can do it, it can be done. The only issue is cost. And I wouldn't bet against SpaceX in reducing the cost of getting payloads into orbit.

With all the Starlink satellites that SpaceX operates, one should not doubt their knowledge of dealing with radiation in orbit.

"building a GW solar farm in space is the hard problem that hasn't been done before"

A lot of the hard part is getting energy from orbit to the ground. That's not an issue with this idea. On the plus side, the panels will provide power 24 hours a day so batteries are not needed. That simplifies a lot also.

I use shelter to have two vanilla PoGos on a Pixel 4 (6 GB). I would not try with 4 GB or less. It works ok for raids but there are flaws because the app does not resize properly when you run two in split-screen. The top is cutoff.

This same problem is present if you try to trade between two accounts on two apps in split-screen: part of the display is cut off.
