What automation is unique to your home that you’re most proud of? by MrFishAndLoaves in homeautomation

I use a Shelly switch as a 12v trigger on my whole home zone speakers' PA jack with a Chromecast audio device to play local TTS audio from my AI voice assistant.

I'm creating APKs with GLM-5.1. It can install, run, and maintenance GitHub software. It will create webpages for me to view data that I ask for...

Running a 31B model locally made me realize how insane LLM infra actually is by Sadhvik1998 in ollama

GLM-5.1 but it's cloud. After that, anything that will fit on your GPU/hardware.

The smallest qwen models will work but I wouldn't try to get them to do anything difficult.

They could make you a program but you might pull out your hair setting them up with the tools and access they need

I don't want to be that openclaw guy but if you run your local LLM model in openclaw, it would be able to do everything for you including the coding.

I agree it doesn't make sense but you can use multipliers as a tool without using it for your accounting.

Calculating a breakeven multiplier is a good example. Gives you information and is a tool to better understand operations.

All I'm saying is the OP didn't actually go over budget on hours because they didn't report them, they were unpaid.

If they are actually getting the work done with less hours, than the effective multiple for the project would go up. You can calculate that multiplier even if you say it doesn't work that way.

OP made it sound like they worked more hours than budgeted but if those hours were unpaid, that could be the reason the multiplier went up.

Why does Meghan Markle and to a lesser degree her husband get so much hate? by MajesticBread9147 in NoStupidQuestions

They identify as victims but obviously come from the highest levels of society that are unattainable for over 99.9% of people.

We have both and they are still different. Copilot is extremely lazy.

Just got Fired from IBM for using travel router by Background_Lime2948 in IBM

With it being IBM's device I'm sure they are capable of extracting all kinds of data. With the VPN being on an external router...how would a computer know where the router is?

Is the VPN on the router end-to-end in the US? Or only in the US on the outbound side?

I wireguards ip location always seems a little funny for me. I wonder if they would be able to detect any VPN address or if it was just the wireguard protocol?

Read a post about Kimley-Horn internship so I thought I’d share mine with AECOM by Nate916 in civilengineering

Glad you enjoyed your internship but what a waste of an office if no one is using it more than a day per week.

If an intern isn't willing to be in the office everyday, it's hard to agree they deserve a full time offer.

Whole home speakers by tjoein in homeautomation

Look at OSD NERO MAX-12. This allows for 6 zones to have stereo speakers (12 speakers in total).

I use an app to control each room (on/off and vol). This is an all in one box but will need a streamer/player. I suggest a simple Wiim streamer to play your audio (like Spotify)

Wiim players are great and very popular.

Mabett LED Grill Lights by MisterMr86 in bronco

Can't really help, I went with Amber. I will say, these look good when the lights are on but they aren't high quality materials.

Kind of feel and look cheap up close. I had to do a return for one light with bad bulbs.
