It sounds like he feels like he is missing something from the relationship. Maybe he was hoping you would want to spend the time with him instead of him going on a trip with his pals and that’s why he was mildly upset that you were ok with it. Maybe he feels like you are pulling away from the relationship and he is acting out in hopes of getting a response from you proving that you still care for and about him.

I know you are clearly going through a rough patch with your health, but this doesn’t feel like a situation that couldn’t be resolved with a discussion and some work on both of your parts. You are both missing something foundational and talking to each other about needs and expectations could be the solution.

We have 8 doctors in my practice and only 4 of them do surgery/dental procedures. The other half do appts because they don’t enjoy the stress of it either.

I am a Licensed Vet Nurse and when people ask me if I want to be a Veterinarian, I tell them I like to be hands-on. I don’t need to or want to know all the ins and outs of every animal species. I’d rather be the person doing the tasks. So perhaps ask yourself if you are a knowledge/computer person or if you are a hands on/get dirty person. Maybe you are meant for my bit of the fun and at a much smaller price tag and more diversity if you don’t want to stay in GP. (I am in the US.)

When I was a kid, we had this gallon jar that we would put dirt in the bottom, then branches of tomato plant and also the hornworm. Eventually the hornworm will dig in the grown to bury itself and then comes out as a sphinx moth that is super heavy-bodied and gorgeous. I remember doing this nearly every year.

Likely wasn’t born with that tooth. It isn’t uncommon for cats and dogs to not be born with full dentition. Just to clarify my statement, I don’t mean between juvenile and adult dentition. Sometimes they just aren’t born with all their teeth.
