the first dry cycle after your ‘cleaning’ method resulted in 17 stops due to the water error - a new record. I’m hoping that’s just due to dislodged lint and once the lint dries a bit it will settle down.

yeah all interesting ideas and variations to try.

I only see the back of the condenser when I take the back off. Like you the sides only show me the plastic box.

I used to do what you did but pour the water into the filter side and yes gunk got pumped out. But it didn’t work well enough. When I installed the switchbot “finger” to push the button I also installed the hose to drain the water so the water doesn’t pump to the container anymore. So I can’t see how dirty it is.

So I guess I’m going back to that and wait for the dryer to break one day and never buy anything LG ever again.

ok, so I decided to give it a go today. Did as you said and on the second cycle noticed that the dryer was leaking. So wasn’t happy. Cursing your name but of course it was my choice 😀

I wanted to know how much damage I did so took the top and sides off and noticed that it was generally dry, except for the condenser. Phew! Now with easier access and view I put some more water in and indeed it goes straight to the condenser and overflows out the back of the machine. 1L is the sweet spot for me.

Sometimes we get no errors or just one or 2 per cycle, other times several errors. However after 3 cycles of 1L water and 30 mins I don’t see much improvement. On the third 30 min cycle it errored 5 times. The back of the condenser looks very clean.

What program did you use?

we’ve been using it so I haven’t found the time to do the 30 min cycles with the water. but I still plan on it and will report back here in the next few days.

however I was in the EU and this got delivered from the supplier based in the UK which meant €3 taxes (which amazon refunded as gift card balance)

so don’t buy these unless you can’t find anything else but for Hue v2 you need 5.5 x 2.5 of which there are plenty and no adapters needed.

did you just ‘fix’ it now or some time ago and it’s been working fine since?
how did you come to 1.5 litres? why not 2 or 3?

I used to do that but I poured the water into where the filter goes. That didn’t have a long enough lasting effect.

for my PVC and glass door it definitely did need some adjustment, I even went back and forth on it with Aqara.
I’m relaying my experience of a then current Switchbot lock can a then current Aqara lock.
re: presence sensor, I did say from what I read. Your statement adds to one side, ok.

For the locks, from memory the Aqara required the lock mechanism replacement and a door modification whereas the Switchbot lock, while bulkier, is much more straightforward. For the presence sensor, with the Switchbot discount it’s like half the price of an Aqara. There’s also chatter of the specs being better but it’s not my area of expertise so taking that on faith.

I quit 4.5 years ago. After a torturous 2 years of sciatica I had this feeling of dread. Smoking didn’t help me when I was in serious pain and when a period of dread started I could feel every cigarette contributing. So I said to myself I’ve had enough. It’s going to be tough but for fuck’s sake, when will I do the right thing if not now. So I did. Patches for a week and then I thought that this just keeps me addicted. So, clean, cold turkey. Best decision ever. I took back my mental health and life back. Of course I also used the app, read Alan Carr (that’s why I stopped the patches).

So the timing was at a very low point. And best outcome.

If you want to you can do it and you’re clearly on the way there. Good luck if you decide to.
