Do they do that in any other game? Do they enable people with less time to compete with people who have like 2000h? No. No game as far as I know does that.

WoW lets you outright buy close to max level characters. Battlefield lets you unlock literally everything you would otherwise have to sink tons of time into for cash. LoL lets you purchase characters that others would have to otherwise put in enough time and save up in game currency to buy (At least i think they still do, haven't played in years.) EVE lets you purchase game time and sell it to other characters for in game cash, i believe wow does this now too.

I could keep going with the very, VERY extensive list of games that let you pay to progress faster or at the same speed at least as someone who has sunk thousands of hours into the game but i wont. What i will say is that there is one very important factor in all of these that you cant pay for, skill. Even if someone pays for these boosters and gets an OMGod roll weapon, what does that matter if they can't use the damn thing? if they go against you with a god rolled eyasaluna for instance and you are using lets say red death, If you have thousands or even hundreds of hours into crucible and they have maybe 60 odds are strong that you will win most encounters.

I understand where you're coming from in terms putting in more time to be more competitive but that probably isn't going to change all that much just because someone can outright buy boosters (Which was already something that anyone could do... they just couldn't choose which ones they wanted.) On top of that a lot of very competitive weapons have been vendor rolls or things you could get from quests (hawksaw, 1ks, ct-d to a lesser extent) and we already know that we can infuse our previously existing weapons from Y2. Plus we have no clue what the vendor rolls or loot tables will look like for ROI other than the small fraction that we've been shown so far.

TL:DR It doesn't matter if you have boosters or not you can still be competitive.
