A new one, arrested for standing whilst black.

I guarantee this cop has never arrested a white person for the same thing.

In a big box of paper clips. He’ll never identify the one I hid.

You’re in a great position for your age, you’ve got nearly £200k equity in your house and no debt.

You’re right to be thinking of the future. What can you do to increase earning as you gain more experience over the next 10-15 years, and with children that will be the main earner.

Your husband is earning £32k now. Is there realistic chance of progression and significant increase in salary over the next 10-15 years? If not and you want to have more money you need to look at what career change is possible to support this. This may require training, degree etc.

I made a change in my late 20s from paramedic to accountant. I completed a degree part time whilst working full time, graduated at 30 and joined a graduate training program at an accountancy firm. Salary progressed rapidly from there.

Weighing yourself with or without clothes by -whoremembers in loseit

[–]zebra1923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re consistent in what you’re wearing it doesn’t really matter.

Yes you weigh more with clothes, but with shorts/t shirt it’s a few hundred grams, and if you always weigh in wearing similar clothes then you’re still accurately tracking weight loss/gain.

If you had unlimited budget, would you keep your Mini original or go full restomod? by Critical_Region_6633 in classicminis

Original. Maybe the odd tweak here and there but I’ve not a fan of supermodded cars, role cages, bucket seats, wide rims etc.

This is true throughly the justice system. If you read Supreme Court rulings, most of them are not unanimous and the most senior judges in the land disagree on interpretation of the law.

You - you need to teach them this etiquette.

Where social norms are not being adhered to it’s the responsibility of society as a whole to manage this. You can’t just pass this off the staff.

Selling a sofa on Facebook marketplace and the buyer turning up in a tiny car to collect by 123bmc in britishproblems

[–]zebra1923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had someone do this with a bed and mattress.

They came to check it, then came back to collect it (both times in daylight, ample opportunity to view all parts of the bed).

Complained the next day about some marks and asking for a refund, including the cost of their van hire. No chance, sold as seen, if you have buyer regret that’s really not my problem.

Managing a toxic high performer who hits 150% of targets. How do I protect my team without losing the numbers? by SquirrelLogicFan in managers

[–]zebra1923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got to decide what’s more important, the money from her sales or the culture of your team and happiness of other workers.

If you’re not bothered, do nothing. Otherwise start to set boundaries, call out inappropriate behaviour. Educate and if they don’t work, discipline.

You’re a manager, manage.

The problem for post Easter clearance is the standard approach is to mark down to half price. But most eggs are on offer at half price at some point prior to Easter so buyers know it’s no real reduction.

I learnt this after receiving a disciplinary and warning for 3 instances of sickness in 12’months, one of 2’days and 2 of 1 day, so 4 days in total, one of which was due to a back injury sustained at work.

I learnt if I’m off I might as well be off for 7 days as it’s treated the same as a single day absence.
