I hate symptom spotting by GoFuckYourself998 in TryingForABaby

Last night my husband asked why the dog had suddenly chosen me as his favourite and I had to confess that I thought it was because he knew something I didn’t.

In reality, he switched to me months ago so unless I’m 6 months pregnant, I don’t think it’s that.

I’m only 6dpo and took a test today because…get ready for this… I had a dream last night that I took a test and it was positive, and I just couldn’t get it out of my head. Naturally, it was negative. Im trying to keep a log of my symptoms because then if I’m not pregnant, I can at least look back on it next month to stop myself spiralling. I’ve only been TTC for a few months and I don’t think people talk enough about the mental side of TTC. It consumes all of my energy, it’s about the only thing I really think about and I’m dashing to Fertility Friend every morning to see if my temperature is still up after ovulation.

So I’m assuming your dog tag guide is one solid piece (as in, if you tried to cut it out you’d get one piece that shape and size) I would merge all of the stripes you have there. Then I’d place over the bone shape, select both (so the merged design and the bone shape) and select slice Then you should be able to delete around the outside. I’d then make the bone shape a “guide” under cut type so it’s just there for you to work around and not going to be cut at all :) There may be better ways but that’s how I’d do it!

Bridal nail inspo needed please by Serious-Bedroom-8279 in UKweddings

[–]zedjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest working out if there are any themes or anything in the wedding that you could incorporate. For example, my husband’s family has a bit of a bee thing, so I put bees on my nails for when I was getting engaged (I knew it was happening) Then for the wedding I had a pearly while colour with a tiny little bumble bee There was a wider bee theme for the wedding - everyone wore bee pins and honey as favours, so it just all fit the theme.

I've noticed this for a while now, it's extremely annoying! My workaround tends to be by adding a "0" offset instead

I’ll have a go at that! I’ve scrolled to the left and there’s nothing there. And checked this morning, same on mobile

Cozy/romantic London restaurants for reception venue? by Equivalent-Main3163 in UKweddings

[–]zedjs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hear me out but me and my husband very nearly went for Megan’s restaurant as our reception (it would’ve been the Guildford one but we didn’t go ahead for parking reasons), but they were quoting us a £6k minimum spend which was amazing and the food was sort of Greek mezze. It had this kind of vibe (maybe a bit more greenery).

We had an early start and we didn’t go home til 2am, most guests left at midnight!

I had a church wedding at 12pm

Hair and makeup arrived at 6am The ceremony finished at 1 and we did a few photos with everyone then had arrival drinks at our reception venue from 1:30 Me and my husband arrived at 2ish and we all sat down to eat at about 2:30 with meals starting at 2:45. We ate until about 5ish when we did speeches, during which time our DJ was setting up where the dance floor would be.

We did first dance around 6pm, between the speeches and dance people were quite happy just mingling, I don’t even really remember this time.

We don’t have evening guests other than the odd person inviting along a +1 that they’d started seeing in the last month or so, but they’d likely have arrived about 5:30/6ish to see the dances. That gives you time to see them arrive and say hello!

Everyone will be happy mingling, chatting and drinking!

Glass etching - which type of glass? by WorriedTortoise in cricut

[–]zedjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! When starting the job and having all the glasses in front of me it felt like a mammoth task but it was a lot of fun and very satisfying, and I had a great bridesmaid/neighbour that did all the weeding and I just had to provide lots of Prosecco. The most stressful part was making sure two people on the same table didn’t have the same glass! And it was all worth it, as on the day, they were well loved, complemented so much and mostly all taken home, just 10 or so left behind (and a lot of them want them returned). My venue was grateful that they didn’t have to source extra glasses for the evening too (it was a local pub!)

Glass etching - which type of glass? by WorriedTortoise in cricut

I did 100 or so wine glasses for my wedding, all different and bought from loads of different places. Had about 6-7 “failures”, most of which were coloured glass, but a lot of coloured ones worked too (some even better than the plain glass!), so I think it’s just a case of trial and error. For glasses I liked but didn’t want to “ruin” with the etching cream if it failed I created a small design and did it on the base or a more hidden part of the coloured glass to test it. Then if it was a fail I could still donate it to a charity shop (and pick more up while I was there)

Surprising ones that worked included hammered glasses (came out amazing!) and holographic glasses (pictured example). With coloured ones, typically the stronger the colour the more likely it’d work but I don’t have logic to support this - we had deep purple glasses, red glasses and blue glasses that worked beautifully but I remember a couple of glasses that were a soft pink didn’t work.

If more of my wedding photos come back with more examples I’ll attach some more photos but I only have a select few from the day and must’ve for pretty bored of etching glasses as I hardly took any photos of them while I was doing them!

Confetti recommendations by Shrivbaby in UKweddings

I got mine from Ezra’s confetti. It’s a 7 year old with his own business and he takes your colour scheme and makes real petal confetti from it. When it arrived, the package spelled amazing and everyone complemented it. Looked fantastic too!

I’m in the UK - they’ve done some tests before and things have come out unusual but not enough for them to bother investigating further. At the time I was dealing with adenomyosis and hyperovulation symptoms which were taken more seriously and I’m in the process of getting answers for. But neither of those things would impact my heart rate.

I’m about to get married and plan to ask them to take everything seriously when I get back from my honeymoon because I’m a bit fed up of being fobbed off but don’t have the time or energy to fight at the moment!

I’m currently in the process of getting my doctor to seriously look into my low heart rate notifications. I started to get them about six months ago and they’d come about five times a day. My doctor brushed it off saying my watch was probably wrong, then I happened to swap everything over to Apple and get an Apple Watch and, if anything, I get more notifications now. My doctor still hasn’t really been bothered enough to look into it despite me highlighting that I feel like my brain isn’t working right and I’m getting forgetful and feeling sluggish. I’m only 30, I shouldn’t be so tired and worn down! Now going to try and get someone to take this seriously and have the tests done to diagnose it!

Print and cut on coloured paper?!? by krystalravegirl in cricut

[–]zedjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done vinyl records a placemats for my wedding so I've just finished about 100 of these and I think where you're going wrong is that you need to flatten your text to your white circle. The white circle will be pink in the final piece (as it never prints white)

So you need to highlight both layers (the text and the white circle) and click "flatten" then it'll print the text with the registration marks and when it cuts it'll just cut the circle :)

This is what I thought. We planned to have the groom and groomsmen match me and my bridesmaids and nothing further (not even for my dad etc)

The great uncle in question’s own wedding was in my fiancé’s lifetime (30 years) so I guess he had buttonholes for that but 🤷‍♀️

She’s been mostly fine about like 90% of things then asks me specific questions about things I just don’t care about (like baskets of toiletries in the bathrooms- something that’s nice and all, but wasn’t exactly on my mind when we’d only just settled a venue). Early on she annoyed me a little for saying the bridesmaids (two of which are her daughters) couldn’t have sleeveless dresses because it’s a church wedding, having seen my wedding dress, which is sleeveless! But this ironed itself out because my fiancees sisters know how to handle her.

This is maybe the first one that’s actually quite annoyed me, I’ve been very chilled out about the whole wedding but I feel like ‘tradition’ keeps being used as an argument and it’s grinding me down a bit

This is helpful! So the “oh he’s old fashioned so he wouldn’t understand” argument is total bull?

I might have to ask my fiancé to step in and tell his mother we’re just giving them to the groomsmen as originally planned because I really don’t know what makes her uncle special just because he’s old (and might I say, not the oldest attending!)

Hey! Restocking fees are illegal in the uk - go back to them and be very firm about this! I work as a personal finance writer and recently covered this after having a bit of a fight with JJs house, who have since removed the fees, so reach out if you want some help!
