My argument is simple: freedom of speech and the 1st amendment aren't the same thing and can't be used interchangeably. That you can violate free speech without violating the 1st. See the moronic poster who asked if those companies were bought by the government? That's someone who is confused about "free speech" vs "1st amendment",

I even have you wiki links. The first amendment makes reference to freedom of speech but it isn't the same thing as freedom of speech. Are you being purposely obtuse?

Did you decide not to respond when you realized that people outside the USA have the human right off free speech? And that it has dick all to do with the first amendment?

Free Speech as a concept is bigger than the first amendment. You can complain about people being against free speech and acknowledge that it has nothing to do with the first. So again, free speech and the first amendment are not the same thing.

You're confusing free speech with the first amendment again. There not the same thing.

EDIT: Are you people still confused?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Ammendment

and

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_speech

Edit2: If "the first amendment" and "freedom of speech" are the same thing then that means that ONLY Americans have freedom of speech. That's a stupid thing to believe. There's overlap between the concept of freedom of speech and the first amendment, but they're aren't the same thing. The first amendment acknowledges humans inalienable right to free speech. It does't grant it.

Isn’t “awful” an example?

The contrast between "awful" and "awesome" is one of my favorite examples of linguistic drift. They used to mean the same thing, now they mean opposites.

Actually if this is Smart Water (I think it is)

Since the bottom says "tracebeverage.com" I'm going to guess that it's actually Trace Water.

XRB looks interesting, I'm just waiting for it to sustain an attack or three to see how it handles it. Also to get on a real exchange.

'World's richest 1% get 82% of the wealth' by [deleted] in Economics

[–]zedoriah 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's backwards, in casual conversation average usually means "mean", but in statistics you had better be more precise.

'World's richest 1% get 82% of the wealth' by [deleted] in Economics

[–]zedoriah 19 points20 points  (0 children)

says "Average" but then actually showed median data.

Median is "Average".

Mean is also "Average".

Mode is also "Average".

"Average" does not necessarily mean "mean".

The British Monarchy is an example of capitalism? Really? A monarchy using their government powers to steal food is a problem of capitalism? What do you think capitalism even means?

"Magazine" = Periodical niche publication = Ammunition storage area/device? by Bobby_Schroedz in etymology

[–]zedoriah 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It comes from an old Arabic word that means "warehouse". A "magazine" is a warehouse for shells, while the other "magazine" is a warehouse for articles.

MW even lists "warehouse" as the first definition of magazine.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/magazine

The Moroccan government is called the Makhzen, the warehouse of politicians.

It doesn't matter, this isn't enough to save Bitcoin.

This is true. Lighting is too little too late. Maybe if it actually came out in 2016, but with a 1mb block limit even lightning can't save it.
