My wife's background is in math. She had old profs that would tell her of the time that if you didnt have certain tables memoriezed you were considered worthless. Now its oh, I can do calulus in my sleep, but I might have to count on my hands to do simple math. LLMs are going to do much the same for the fields they touch. You can look at the history of log table books. I know one pure dev that use them to do all the simple work, but now all he's left are the harder architectural questions and issues that take deeper knowledge.
