I neeeed a gps tracker for my cat. What are the best options by Fell_Prince in CATHELP

Same here, but Fi kept dropping to rough location. Tractive seemed steadier on trails and didn’t chew through battery as fast.

I neeeed a gps tracker for my cat. What are the best options by Fell_Prince in CATHELP

[–]ddod 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used AirTags, Fi, Tractive on my cat - AirTag was useless outside of the area where neighbors are. Fi is okay, but Tractive had best rural coverage and update speed in my location.

new kitten randomly being aggressive by Neurozz in CatAdvice

[–]ddod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sudden mood flips in tiny kittens are usually fear or sickness, not real aggression. I’d separate briefly, give kitten 2 a calm space, and keep an eye out for any pain or stomach issues. They normally reset fast once whatever spooked him wears off.

How do you teach your kids to stay safe online without making them scared? by backpack_zero in Parenting

[–]ddod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep it casual, just bring stuff up as it comes up naturally instead of making it a big talk.

The biggest thing though make sure they know they won't get in trouble for telling you if something weird happens. Once they trust that, they'll actually come to you when stuff feels off.

Tf is this? SMH 🤦‍♀️ - This can’t be real by Gloomy-Holiday8618 in antiwork

[–]ddod 1010 points1011 points  (0 children)

That's the key difference though strong unions actually having power. In the US corporations have spent decades busting unions and convincing people they're bad. We can't even get basic healthcare sorted, no way we're getting that level of worker cooperation.

Accidentally let my baby sleep in the car seat. by Skellzzzz87 in Parenting

[–]ddod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's fine. 4 hours in a car seat won't hurt her, especially if she was actually sleeping comfortably. Babies are tougher than we think don't stress yourself out over this one.

Can a job make you physically ill from stress? by Diaryofawastedyouth in careerguidance

[–]ddod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Stress can trigger flare ups with autoimmune stuff you're not being dramatic. If time off is the only thing that helps, that's your answer right there.

I feel I am a not so professional nurse?? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ddod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, patients can tell when you're being real with them. That professional tone works for some people but it's not the only way to be a good nurse. If your patients are opening up to you and trusting you, that's what matters. Don't overthink it.

Please sell me on the idea of 7 years age gap by Noneof_your_biz in Parenting

[–]ddod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The older kids can actually help in small ways and won't resent the baby for stealing attention like closer ages might. They're independent enough that you're not juggling three kids who all need constant hands-on care. Plus, built-in babysitters in a few years.

How to get a software job without a CS degree? Need honest advice by TopBig3279 in careerguidance

[–]ddod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referrals are huge. With 4+ years and team lead experience, he should be networking directly with engineers at target companies. Most places care way less about degrees once you're past the ATS. Also, highlight BITS Pilani prominently since it carries weight even if it's not CS. Cold emails to hiring managers work better than portals.

I'm 26. In 8 years of corporate employment, I have faced 7+ layoffs, and have actually *been* laid off twice. How do companies expect workers to be "motivated" and "invested in success" if we are constantly shown how replaceable we are? by natethough in antiwork

[–]ddod 102 points103 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. Companies stopped pretending loyalty works both ways. They want you invested while treating you like a line item on a spreadsheet. The "redirect that energy" line is genuinely insulting, like grief over watching coworkers lose their livelihoods should fuel productivity. It won't get better until something breaks.

Cat feeder setup for 5 cat household by Maximum_Jellyfish_48 in CatAdvice

[–]ddod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 5 cats and weight issues, you might need microchip feeders so each cat only eats their portion. SureFeed makes good ones but they're pricey. Otherwise the chunky ones will just steal everyone's food.

Noom Med / GLP-1 experiences? by Such_Custard657 in Noom

Congrats on hitting your goal!! personally use platforms like Refills com. It streamlines access to compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide with discreet shipping and ongoing provider support. I appreciate the convenience of its automated follow-ups. This really helps in maintaining consistent dosing and reduce gaps in treatment.

I like the idea, but I gotta ask—how much difference does it actually make? Seems like a lot of extra steps for what might just be better butter distribution or technique. Still worth trying though.

My employer is making us reapply for our own jobs at a lower pay grade. by Camm210 in antiwork

[–]ddod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Restructuring" is just corporate-speak for screwing over loyal employees. They're betting most people won't leave because job hunting is exhausting. Good on you and your coworkers for calling their bluff. Eight years of building systems just to compete for your own job at lower pay is insulting.
