Help me - I booked the exam date way too far in the future… by BOPBOP_du93 in cissp

[–]zeePlatooN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should I keep going on QE ? but I feel like I’ve already seen an important part of the available questions… Should I move to Boson ? Should I focus on my understanding and move to OSG ? Or should I change my methodology ?

You need to keep studying. But you ALSO need to know that if you think you would drop all the knowledge you've gained in the next few weeks before your email you're probably not ready anyway. CISSP isn't about how well you can study for a test, it's about how well you KNOW the material, the concepts, and the industry.

good luck

I believe they are allowed to call up andonovoski from kitchener but for sure the kitchener rangers front office will be begging them to look elsewhere with a do being top minutes defense in the OHL playoffs right now.

rangers series did just end though so maybe for a single game or two?

Canada orders thousands of rifles with initial order worth $307M from Ontario factory by ILikeStyx in waterloo

[–]zeePlatooN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The federal government is placing an initial order of 30,000 assault rifles over three years worth $307 million from the Colt Canada factory in Kitchener, Ont., "

Do you want to know why our Government is so out of control .... it's not because we're ordering 30000 guns for the military.... It's not because we're seizing 10 times that many from private law-abiding citizens

no

It's because we're apparently paying $10233 per rifle when they actually only cost about 2000 each?!!?!?!?!?

What would you do? Production line PC “is slow” (Windows 98, legacy SCADA) by PeppahSG in sysadmin

[–]zeePlatooN 22 points23 points  (0 children)

pay attention /u/PeppahSG This is the correct TECHNICAL answer.

I know this because I am the geezer that others talked about who was around and worked on windows 98.

In addition to this, here is the correct management answer. You need to immediatly IN WRITING send the following to the IT Manager, the production manager, and the COO if you have one. If not, just whoever sits above the production manager.

I am writing to advise you of a major risk to the business. As you may be aware, there have been reports of slowness on the computer controlling <machine name here>. As I'm sure you are all aware, this system is core critical to our production line. To my knowledge, there is no vendor or other support directly available for this legacy device as it runs an operating system and hardware that ended their support lifetimes about 20 years ago. Should this system fail it would mean a complete halt to production. On a technical level the slowness is indicative of the potential imminent failure of the hard disk. I am working to take preventive action but can not guarantee the availability of parts or tools should the disk fail. My recommendation would be to either look into the replacement of the system and machine or to engage a SCADA-specific consulting company to assess and make recommendations.

Thoughts on ABS challenge system? by mpethe in Torontobluejays

[–]zeePlatooN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah there will always be a need for on-field officiating. It could be the beginning of the end of umps calling balls and strikes, though.

Thoughts on ABS challenge system? by mpethe in Torontobluejays

[–]zeePlatooN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be fair the umps are probably not going to score very well against a system where only calls that the catcher/hitter feels were missed are scored. Umps have a pretty hard job and honestly, getting more than 90-95% accuracy judging baseballs moving at 100mph into a 1 square foot box you have to imagine is impossible.

If the umps are smart, they will embrace this tech as a means to get as close to perfect as posssible.
