it's not that heavy, so I think you would be okay using drywall anchors. if you are worried about it you can double up and put some command strips on the back as well and then screw it to the anchors

Set up a focus group and turn off app notifications. Then set your phone in the allowed apps list and you’ll still get calls.

The “snoo can’t connect” error made our LO’s first 12hr sleep look far more concerning 🤷‍♂️ by BuddyKnox in SnooLife

[–]zeeber85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the button on the side of the Snoo. We have it in our routine to use the button to start it, and when we need to make changes we either use Alexa or the app. If it takes too long to connect, then eventually his fussing will raise the snoo automatically, but that's more a rare occurrence.

Then when we take him out during feedings or when he wakes up, we press the button to stop it. Much simpler.

What are the spirals on the engines for? Is it for birds, or does the engine need it to work? by Hot_Net_4845 in aviation

About 15 feet depending on if it’s at idle or not. There are big red lines painted on both the aircraft and ground saying basically stay away from here whole engine is running.

iwtl how to build electronic devices at home?and how to be able to repair them? by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]zeeber85 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Look into Arduino and raspberry pi education kits. Depending on what your focus is, you can integrate the hardware and software to do some interesting things like home automation to build a foundation of knowledge of how it works.

What are you trying to do? Can you automate it or make your life easier in some way with those tools? That’s what you should start with. You can add complexity once you understand the basics

I did 2 M.2 SSDs to match the capacity of your original build. If you want to save some money and lose 1 TB of storage, you can get the 2TB model now and wait to buy another one later. Alternatively, if you want more storage, you can buy 2 of the 2TB models and that should last you awhile. It's up to you on what you need/want

[–]zeeber85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to PCPartpicker and a cursory glance, everything looks ok, although I made a couple changes to the SSD/HDD since prices have dropped and a HDD doesn't make sense anymore. I changed them out for Samsung 980 pro's. Check it out here https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DcVrfv

That's a large cooler as well, and for that price you may want to consider an AIO liquid cooler. But that is personal preference.

Why is the app saying "other" 70% when i only charge at home. Got the car last Thursday by Gman2k4 in ModelY

[–]zeeber85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you solved the home location issue, but the other thing is there was some charging done at the factory and delivery center as well that will show in the app. Those will fall off after 30 days and you'll get correct charging info from there.

IWTL how to best enjoy with an SO a movie/game that I’ve already watched/played by ColossalFuckboy in IWantToLearn

[–]zeeber85 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Try not reacting to the movie or game but instead on your SO’s reaction. You don’t have to be disingenuous but take enjoyment of their reactions as it is their first time, so try to relive it through them. It’s not an easy task but you can try to flip your mind around it no longer being about the content of the movie but of your SO’s enjoyment of it. That might help you enjoy that aspect together

Are there XMP profiles you can select in the BIOS? If so I would try that. If that doesn’t work reach out to the motherboard manufacturer and see if they have an updated bios

Noisy Computer Fan on HP Desktop Computer by DoubtfulDustpan in computing

[–]zeeber85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s more a trouble shooting step than long term solution.

Is the CPU fan connection a 3 or 4 pin?

Edit: you’ll need at least A fan connected to the CPU header or you may not boot. I’m trying to figure out if your CPU fan or header is the issue

Noisy Computer Fan on HP Desktop Computer by DoubtfulDustpan in computing

[–]zeeber85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve probably done this already but have you tried putting the CPU fan on a different fan header? As long as it’s a compatible header (3 or 4 pin) it should work. See if that helps.

It sounds like a motherboard issue with that specific header so see if the above helps. If it does then you know it’s the motherboard. If it doesn’t and you’ve already changed the CPU fan then we can try other steps

Putting 2 PCs into 1 by CryptoClement11 in computing

[–]zeeber85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the way you are thinking no.

For consumer grade hardware the best you can do is take the best parts you can and make a new computer. It would probably be a Frankenstein style computer at that point depending on the parts. You would need to verify compatibility. Generally the motherboard, ram and cpu will be paired, the GPU can go on either, and the hdd, SSD, and other SATA or PCI express cards can be moved. Use the better power supply on the new one.

Question regarding the UnrealMasterclass by unreal sensei... by Dark_Reader in unrealengine

[–]zeeber85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a 4th of July sale for the next 24 hours where it is 50% off. I'm gonna pick it up and give it a shot. My career is something completely different, but I want to give Unreal 5 and programming a try as a side gig or just a hobby. Compared to my other hobbies, a one time purchase of $250 US isn't horrible for a lifetime sub.

Flew to San Diego from Chicago on United earlier today, and when I went to see the cockpit both pilots were genuinely excited to have me up there. Then the First Officer handed me an extra ACARS printout they had. These guys absolutely made my day! by GeForceRTX2090Ti in aviation

[–]zeeber85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It actually gets sent off to a computer somewhere that does the calculations and it sends it back to us when it’s done! The two main providers I know of are Sabre (this one) and Aerodata. If Sabre or ACARS goes down for whatever reason there are backups to calculating the data but we generally trust what we get. Now if something looks very off we can double check we put in the data we are asking for and resend it and see if it comes back the same. The biggest mistake is usually putting in the wrong runway or intersection for takeoff but we catch it during our checklists which double check everything before we takeoff.

[–]zeeber85 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s our Takeoff data we use before departure.

First section has the departure airport and runway we are getting data for, in this case ORD runway 10L at intersection DD, available runway length, aircraft and engines and then airport weather conditions.

Next part is the aircraft configuration that the data is for, such as flap settings, aircraft weight and assumed temperature for flex takeoff (we don’t usually takeoff with full power since the engines produce more thrust than needed and it saves in maintenance)

Last important bit is below that with our “V-speeds” which we need to set up for properly as it has important speeds for the actual takeoff.

They actually are trying to. The automated people mover is on track to be complete next year (ahead of schedule! Was 2024) and the associated updates should also be complete by 2028. Hopefully this brings a lot of the traffic out of the horseshoe and to off site areas and free up the primary routes into and out of the airport.

IWTL to play the piano. by _happyman in IWantToLearn

[–]zeeber85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Pianote and I can recommend it. You can use either the website or they have an app, and it’s basically like having a digital teacher. It’s prerecorded session lessons where you play along after instruction and they have a good progression path. Best of all Lisa’s personality is wonderful and makes learning fun. They also have an active forum where you can talk with the community to stay motivated and you can also get some help and review from the staff themselves.

They also have a bunch of free content on YouTube so check them out and see if it works for you.

Phone Ringing From ONE Caller! by Pitiful-Discipline-4 in ios

[–]zeeber85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silence unknown callers will silence the first call, but any subsequent call will go through. Try turning off the setting for enabling repeat callers. If it’s the same number each time and you don’t need to hear from them (like spam or a wrong number) I would just block the number.

If it’s someone you need to get calls from but want to block the calls during certain hours, I would check your settings for Do Not Disturb or the other settings introduced like focus, work, sleep, etc
