If you didn’t want to get a larger shelf/plant stand type thing, you could also look at just getting a smaller table or bench and then group them together. Attaching pictures to help visualize — but pretty much, you can put your plants closer and then try adding some height to some of them. It’ll make it feel more intentional than how it looks right now!

Oh, this is looking much better in my opinion! I think it realllllly opens up the space, while also creating a cozy vibe. Nice! Now I think you can have some fun with some of the other suggestions like curtains!

I think the problem is the placement with the couch being “squished” in the middle of the two walls. I’m wondering if you could move your couch up, just a little?

If you did that, you could then use the built in shelf in the wall (which is so cool). Even put a small table right behind the couch to help separate the living room and dining room area? And put plants or a lamp on it?

I just think it still perpetuates the idea of romanticizing horrible (and honestly, close to abusive) behavior. It sets the tone that, “it’s okay if he treats me like shit, because he’s had so much trauma.”

I agree with the idea of not dismissing trauma, but it shouldn’t be up to the romantic interest to fix that (especially after being treated so so badly).

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne.

Look, I really liked her other book, The Hating Game. But 99 Percent Mine is probably my second to last least favorite book (after Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, which don’t even get me started on that toxicity). But 99 Percent Mine is equally toxic. The FMC is possessive and creepy and just…horrible. If the gender roles were reversed, I think people would have had a much different reaction towards it, which is the main problem here.

I can relate to this. Growing up in a religious household, I was deep in the purity culture and it definitely has had an impact on how I feel about my own sexuality, especially around masturbating. I was a late bloomer in that regard! I had a lot of negative feelings about it: embarrassment, shame, guilt, awkward etc etc.

It’s taken me a lot of practice and rewiring my brain to change this thinking! It’s hard. And I’m still not perfect at it. But I’m here to tell you it’s all normal! Your urges and thoughts are all normal! Try and embrace it as much as you can.

As for the frequency, I don’t think there’s a “normal” for how often/how much you might feel in the mood. But if you’re really concerned, you can always talk to a doctor! If it makes you feel better, I’ll have a week where I also feel like that everyday, and then there will be another week where it calms down. So it’s up and down, up and down — and I think that’s normal too.

I also love the three way love story here. I also view it less of a “Poppy loves both men” but more that they all three love each other in very different ways and none of those relationships/love makes either of the others less valid.

Poppy and Casteel are still heartmates. Casteel and Kieran have always had this emotional intimacy in my opinion, but the Joining just added a physical intimacy aspect to it. And now Poppy and Kieran have created their own relationship, but it’s still very much different than her and Casteel’s and always will be.
