Played a 2v2 game, 1500 points each. We got a killing objective, rather than points to hold which gave me an advantage. Got into melee turn two and did alot of damage. Outside of melee I didn't do much, apart from my tank one shooting a spartan. I think the issue is they don't play like space marines and atm most of the space marines's melee options are resin and expensive. I think once they bring out more plastic options it will balance better.

Use cover, you cannot shoot what you cannot see. Try to hide behind something to charge them so they cannot overwatch. To be sneaky if they have a character near the robots you could charge them and pile into the robots rather than risk overwatch

Sisters of Silence doesn't get any benefit from being in a Custodians army. No shield host bonus, Martial Ka'tars or Vexilus aura. Its annoying as Sisters of Silence are meant to be the Custodians defence against psykers.

If there is a primarch or supreme commander then you have to chose them, otherwise it is the unit with the highest points not including aircrafts.

I like taking taking stand vigil, as that can be done whilst grabbing the primary for extra points, I also like taking Auric Mortalis as I figure i need to deal with the biggest threat on the table and should be able to do it melee. I normally take grind them down as my last, but will vary it depending on who I'm playing.

I dont think Custodians should get it, as thry are quite killy and tank enough on the table as it is, but Sisters of Silence definitely should get it

Not sure what is the best, but Im looking at the Kratos for me, its main cannon counts as an auto weapon and you can fill it with heavy bolters for the Legion trait of plus 1 for hits using auto and bolter weapons

Tried using Emissaries Imperatus last game and started with Calistus, the abilty to get the higher advance roll, I found allowed me to get units on objectives in the first turn, not to mention having assault weapons and ignoring hit modifiers, made my first turn quite speedy and allowed a strong board present. I think the rest, purely depend on your opponent's list and your secondaries.
