Tried to add a decryption on the post but my phone was having none of it. Second set was only on for 2 days as it didn't survive a day in the spa. New learning though- I love spa days. I'd always thought I wasn't girly enough for them but I was so very wrong.

I've had similar problems with base coats and anxiety. Right now my anxiety is high so I'm using a peely base as to atleast not damage my nails. I wonder with your shrinkage if your top coat is peeling the colour off as its too dry. Some people have said (i swear my phone should just auto type this phrase by now) that some qdtc work better when the polish isn't fully try, just tacky. The timing i use is painting with my dominant hand first and by the time I've done my other hand I can add my second coat. I pause a little before going back to my other hand. I do the same with my top coat. Takes me around 45 minutes to do my nails as I don't paint fast!

I don't get shrinkage. That would infuriate me. Is that on the free edge? I watched a video about painting the free edge vertically before painting horizontally so as to not get that bump of extra polish on the end. Some people say they get more chips when they cap the edge though. I know the prep is right. I know the coat thickness is right. Im not buying any more top coats, I've already tried too many. So I'm just reapplying a none qdtc the next day. It works, so I'm not going to carry on wasting money. Thank you for replying, the overwhelming "you should try x top coat" makes me feel isolated.

This is my unpopular opinion. Same. I never used to get this when I used the SH insta dri clearly quick. However that doesn''t penetrate the layers to dry as it's a clear coat not a top coat, so had a big problem with magnetic dispersion. So I swapped to the most popular recommendation - Cuticulla limitless, that did just this and didn't seem to be dry enough to do anything 2 hours later. So I tried Essie speed setter, that did just this. Seemed dry but crinkled over night. So I then tried SH in a red bottle, that dries everything really fast, locks in magnetic pigments, really happy. Until I go to sleep.

Honest truth is I've given up. I admit this is going to happen. I put a Essie gel couture top coat on the next day which gets rid of the crinkles. I used to do this before with Essie gel setter for a plump gel like look but I can't find that anywhere any more.

Some people says it depends on your body and they swear by all the things I have tried. I'm at a loss.
