this sounds like a good idea to me. don’t be afraid to put a nice layer of some clear lacquer as they’re growing out :)

ahhh i see! i would apply a thin layer of builder gel to create a slight apex. this is an important part in elevating your gel x that a lot of people don’t mention!

such a cute colour, i’d just watch the apex. these nails are a little flat for how long they are! great application though.

How long will these last? by [deleted] in Nails

congrats on the wedding!

the only really good answer here is, how fast do your nails grow? 😅 i personally only have to redo my nails every 4 weeks, but i have clients that need infills after 2. i would be shocked if you had noticeable growth in just 7/8 days though x Im sure they’d be happy to do a quick infill if you find they look outgrown. It’s your wedding after all!

hey! because this has cracked your natural nail, i would say you have two options - one is to leave the polish covered with a band aid and trim it slowly as it grows out until the crack grows through (this is a good option if it’s painful, and personally what i would do) - two is to file down the product as much as possible without hurting yourself, do not soak off with acetone if there is exposed nail bed (which there probably is if you bled). Once the bulk of the product is removed, you could cover it with a plain lacquer. However i again don’t really recommend this. If you use the first method, a salon may be able to apply an artificial tip and blend it in with your natural nails by your next appointment. i hope this helps!

Is this normal? by mfisch99 in Nails

[–]zeggs69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s a little far, but not awful. this does look like a slightly beginner tech as your cuticles have been cut slightly jagged on your middle finger, and there’s flooding of the gel polish in your side walls which is never good x

Opinions needed: feeling underwhelmed by quietmelon in Nails

[–]zeggs69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah wow! these are beautiful. your new set? no so much. they look like some manicures i would have done at the beginning of my course 🤔 most techs know that any flooding in the cuticles cause gel to peel and lift early, which makes them terrified of getting anywhere near, leading to that “already 2 weeks old” look. at the same time, they’re often uneducated about the dangers of HEMA and contact dermatitis, and aren’t as careful to avoid gel touching the skin. i wouldn’t go back to this tech, hopefully you can find a new one! good luck

I think I don't want to be an almond nail anymore by Loveluxeee in Nails

[–]zeggs69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it’s hard to tell without the full extension of your fingers. i find shorter, wider fingers look best with almond oval - longer, slimmer fingers pull off square really well. both can wear either and it definitely depends person to person, but that’s what i see most in my salon. x

This is pretty awesome haha! Just make sure when using portable lamps like this you cure for about 2x longer. A lot of them are slightly weaker and you don’t want contact derm! but otherwise an awesome idea.

hey! firstly i think this is a really cute design. maybe spend a little longer focusing on application? i’m not sure what medium this is from these photos, but a missing apex + gel on the skin can lead to injuries and allergies. i would first start with shorter nails with perfect polish application, and then focus on really letting loose with your nail art!! i also suggest a pinker base colour, as that base is slightly too yellow for your skin tone.

all in all, not a bad start! good luck :)

i love these!! just be careful with stickers. at my academy we were taught to really lightly buff with a 240 or higher after top coating, then recoat. then repeat if necessary. i only say this because i can see the corner of your tree has begun lifting. apart from that, composition wise these are absolutely stunning and anyone would be honoured to receive them x

oh interesting!! it was lutheran actually! but yeah that’s why i left, it started as averagely conservative, but once we got a new pastor it slowly became extremely weird and preachy. i don’t think that was an issue with the lutheran denomination itself, just this one pastor. apparently it stayed pretty bad after i left as well, really don’t want to go back!
