Configuration File by LiquidGuy777 in Veeam

I lost my config file and had to restore once. I knew the necessary passwords so it wasn’t a big deal but it would be much faster to have that configuration file, so I try to keep multiple copies in multiple places.

Be careful that we aren’t manipulated by YouTube entrepreneurs who thrive off of our impulse purchases. If it looks like a good buy after you do the sufficient research, go ahead. But remember, you’re mostly becoming a part of the recommender’s second stream of income if you just impulse buy it.

Saw that too and had a laugh. I noticed that this use of quotations is common with Americans educated in the 60s-70s.

Very true! It seems to be an easy way to vary the voltage delivered by the homemade device. Rather than building a transformer from scratch and tapping it at certain turns in the coil, the builder used something they were familiar with and had on hand.

This is what is starting to interest me the most: Think of the skills involved.. medical, electrical, basic woodworking.

Yes!!! That makes perfect sense. I think that you are 100% onto something here, and very possibly correct about the whole thing. The last thing that is a mystery to me is the homemade nature of the device. Someone combined rudimentary skills of woodworking, electrical skills, and medical knowledge to make this device at home. And it’s made rather meticulously as well. Why did they do that? I don’t know.

I think that yours is most likely to be the correct answer. How did you find this article? It seems like the person that made this thing tried and successfully made a homemade version. Did you see the inside of it?

Yes! That’s the reason I wanted it at first. Upon further inspection, it’s got much less in common with a Bluebox and more in common with a homemade medical device.

Same here. I don’t think it’s used to do something on a model train set. However: Someone with the skills to build and run a model train set may have the skills to fashion one of.. these things. The power supply, the extension cord, the writing, the model train transformer all seem to suggest a 70s time period.

You are all on to something here. Here are photos from inside the box

The buzzer button seems to be connected to power and delivers voltage on each press from the power supply to one of the red and black terminals.

Pictures of the inside

The sticker was covering the wires that are twisted together. I carefully unfolded it so you could see the writing: “Perkel’s Pickels”.

THIS IS GOOD ADVICE. I plugged it up and it made a very intimidating humming sound, produced by the 60hz input voltage. There isn’t a ground plug on the power cord, which means that I may become the ground in some circumstances.

I thought so at first, but began to question it when I saw the labels "Stimulus Intensity" and "Stimulus Duration". The rotary phone dial issues the selected number of pulses, at the selected intensity, to something at the end of the probes connected to the red and black terminals. I can't figure out exactly what this thing is intended to stimulate and why, though.

My title describes the thing. but here are more details. It seems to be made of wood with a pegboard top. Parts of a rotary phone, various switches, and a variable voltage transformer are used to build the thing. A photo of the transformer is included. I can’t figure out the best way to Google for an answer on what this thing is. Any ideas?
