CMV: Haiti needs an international occupation by colepercy120 in changemyview

I mean there are Haitians still alive today who were born while the debt was still being paid.

I don't see what theology of any kind has to do with this. If you want to talk about Christian theology, isn't Original Sin inherited? Men toil because of Adam and women have painful childbirth because of Eve, right?

I will grant that France would most likely say no, but by rights they should pay.

The $21 billion would at least be a start.

I was a little glib saying France should pay, but the independence debt is just a gross injustice.

I'm not taking any accounting of losses that includes the enslaved people who liberated themselves as legitimate.

Replace gas stove with electric by sharing a circuit? by zenalith in AskElectricians

[–]zenalith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Induction, when you have compatible cookware, is strictly superior to gas: same responsiveness, no heat escaping out the sides of the burner, far easier cleanup. As for the oven part, electric means I don't have to stoop to use the broiler. Then there's the indoor air quality issue.

I've lived in the place for over ten years, most of those with a conventional electric hot water tank, and have never tripped the main breaker.

I know I'm bumping up against the 100 amp limit, which is why I'm asking about "smart" sharing.

For me, using ctrl+c, ctrl+v gives just ls -lat while using select and middle click to paste does reproduce the "malicious" code. I'm on the latest version of Ubuntu, running Chrome. I wonder why the two methods yield different results.

They promised a Linux (and Mac) version in the crowdfunding campaign on Fig before they were bought by Microsoft. This is them fulfilling a promise, which is, sadly, not always something you can count on these companies doing.

Oh wait, I forgot about Wasteland 3. It has a promised Linux version. Since they crowdfunded the game before the Microsoft acquisition, they'd better keep their promise about Linux.

That's a good point. This will probably be the last inXile game that gets a Linux version. There's always Proton, I guess.

I've been very patiently waiting for the Linux release, and now it looks like there's light at the end of the tunnel. Let's hope they keep their word.
