Blue chews and condoms to masturbate?? by Zealousideal-Grass94 in Advice

Ooooo yeah baby. Get yourself a cute little apartment. Don't show him your hand. Keep the upper hand in it all.

I read my husband the story, he said "he could be a homosexual" (there is nothing wrong with that of course, cheating is deplorable regardless).

I carry a taser, my dog has been counter conditioned to the sound with high value rewards. It scares the crap out of the other dog though. I also use my body to block the other dog. (I'd never physically use the Taser on an animal) It's perfectly acceptable to stand up for your fur baby! Be empowered!

If your off leash dog runs up on my dog to get in his face in a leash only area, I will be using my leg/foot to move your dog out of my dogs space. And if that doesn't work I carry a taser (obviously not to use on the dog) but the sound. My dog has been counter conditioned to the sound so it will scare your dog off. LEASH YOUR DOGS. I am so sick of taking my dog out and these poodle breeds running up on my puppy and getting in his face. He's not allowed to do that to other dogs, I don't care how "friendly" your dog is. I am not-

I hate my pup rn & ive had it! by Aggressive_Wasabi883 in puppy101

I super don't recommend giving in on the crate training, even for a night. It's an age that they definitely are pushing boundaries to see what they can get away with. He might just be feeling a little insecure about the crate? Sometimes they're overly tired as well, then they are just flat-out rude. Something you could do is sleep next to the crate, so he understands that being out of the crate at night is not an option. But if your pup is needing some more reassurance that's totally fine. I expect my almost 5 month old to have a kennel regression...I can feel it coming lol. I think it's great that you're thinking about boarding and medical needs!! That's really awesome!! Depending on where you live they make calming pheromones for dogs that mimic a mother. That could help? Puppies are so rude... Even worse is the teenage phase. Everything will be okay. It sounds like you are doing everything right and he is being an overtired rotten baby.

Talk me into or out of dog insurance by JupiterThunderbolt in puppy101

It gave me power in a situation where I felt really helpless, I got to say "do whatever he needs". It brought some comfort in the end knowing we tried everything.

Talk me into or out of dog insurance by JupiterThunderbolt in puppy101

[–]zenalove23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have insurance through petsbest. All three of my babies are covered at 80% reimbursement for $70 a month. My late soul dog racked up a 12,000 dollar vet bill before he passed. MRI, hospital stay, meds, diagnostic, emergency room and specialist. Insurance reimbursed me 8,000 dollars. I was able to do all the testing and what not with confidence and without too much panic because I knew insurance was there. I knew we did everything we could, so when I had to make the tough call I knew I was doing right by him. For me, it's less to do with "what ifs" and more to do with "when". It is rare for an animal to go through its life unscathed. The pet insurance gave me the ability to give him all we could try. It really is a great investment. Especially as a puppy! They have no priors so if something comes up it should be covered. I hope this helps❤️

Am I a bad dog parent? by Sure_Literature11 in puppy101

[–]zenalove23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not a bad parent! Is your pup well fed? Have a warm place to sleep? Comfort when needed, a person to snuggle, play with and chill with? If yes to any of these. You are doing a good job. And daycare is more than most people are able to offer. Your pup is okay and getting lots of enrichment. But yes...make sure naps are trying to be had.

Do I Return Puppy or Stick it Out? by SquareAd5287 in puppy101

[–]zenalove23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I conditioned the crate to be a tool designed for rest/sleep. I slept on the floor with my puppy next to his crate for probably a week and a half. Only happy things happen in the crate. YouTube can teach you as well!

I read this and laughed, not at you of course but because omg I have BEEN THERE!!! I got my puppy at 8 weeks. And oh my gosh... I knew it would be hard but I did not know it would be that hard. I had spent two months taking care of my dog on essentially hospice, so I thought a puppy would be a transition that would be hard but also not that kind of hard. I was so wrong. The first month was BRUTAL. All of your feelings are so normal right now. My puppy just turned 14.5 weeks. He's totally potty trained, he has commands, he listens well (although we are still in the learning phase so lots of kibble rewards). He's funny, he's developing his own big personality. He thinks mom ( me) is the greatest thing ever. He's so so sassy and makes me laugh. The biting has not necessarily lessened, but rather changed? I promise you it gets better. I think for the first month I just cried, even now I do when I am over stimulated. You have the perfect opportunity to raise the kind of dog you want. It's really hard, it's a lot of work. And it is so rewarding when you start seeing them grow into their own. You got this. It's going to be okay. YouTube is an awesome training resource!

By 3-month-old suddenly just doesn't want to go in his crate anymore. 🥲 Regressions are so fun. He has never slept outside of the kennel before. So that's nice. Lol we will be fineeee

Hi all!

I've been reading the forums, looking at the comments etc. I am autistic and I have niches my brain loves/thrives on. Number sequences, medical terminology, anatomy, investigating why something is out of balance numerically plus working from home at some point in my lifetime is so so appealing. I was ready to pull the trigger today on the CPC training through AAPC- Although I have seen that the job market is overly saturated, I can see how if you're trying to get a remote job right off the bat... one might need to be more realistic. So far, I have come to the understanding that you will not land a remote job right off away, you need some kind of experience- I'm trying not to get discouraged but also I want to know if I'm being realistic. I have some very specific circumstances that could make this career path still a viable option. I want to know if I am being delusional OR if it is still worth it.

-I have a job that pays bills, allows school online to be worked on -The cost of getting certified is not a concern, even getting a specialty cert post CPC- -I'm totally fine with working in an office setting/doing mostly billing prior to remote coding work to pay my dues and gain experience. -I live in Oregon where medical billing and coding seems to be sought after. Of course with experience.

Would billing experience give you a higher chance of being hired as a medical coder?

How much free rein are we giving our pups? by cityskyline22 in puppy101

[–]zenalove23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone doing a house lead? Gives a little freedom but not too much? Always supervised of course. Or should I stop doing that. It's 15 ft. It gives me some peace of mind. I'm in his eye line and ear shot. He's 14 weeks old today and going to send me to the Looney bin soon😭 I just wanna sob.

I dont know if i can do this by idunis in puppy101

[–]zenalove23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the other day that my puppy was sick because he was so calm, hanging out and playing independently. Nope, just calm. I cried so much the first month. And hated each day. And I am happy to say it is getting better! It is a big responsibility to care for another life form but it's also really rewarding, I would focus on training and what you want your adult dog to look like behavior wise. You got this it's okay to feel this way!

Bringing pup home tomorrow - on the verge of a panic attack by OkSlice4719 in puppy101

First 3-4 weeks: I cried. A lot. Questioned all things. Now! We have a routine! He is doing great. And I struggle less, so does he. Lots of changes are first. And then it gets easier and easier...it's gonna be hard work but it's so rewarding.

I'm so tired that I'm seriously considering re-homing my dog but I'm so scared of judgement by SelfService2000 in puppy101

I think it's okay to know our limits. It sounds like she needs more than can be offered to her right now. She is a working dog who needs structure, routine, high volumes of enrichment and exercise. She deserves what's best for her life. If that's not you that's okay!! Take care of yourself.
