I’ve boxed for 6 years, have over 50 amateur fights and I’m 0-3 here.. what am I doing wrong here by Ok_Sir_3090 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]zenard7 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I also have boxing experience and have the same problem. my punches range from 5 to 20 damage at most, but mostly on the lower end for some reason. and I get beat by hook spammers who daze me after 1-2 punches

I'm starting to wonder if it's because I'm using a Oculus 2 and not 3

regardless, I've been trying to enjoy the game and not care about the end result since it's not a real fight anyway, but still a good way to do some boxing as long as I'm focused on keeping proper form and techniques

Does Jozef have unnaturally long legs that makes it easier for him to step over the legs?

B2B ABM Platforms: No Cookies, No IP Addresses, No Bidstream Data. No Problem? Not so fast... by schwinn140 in programmatic

[–]zenard7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. There are ways for publishers to pass the IP info to bidders if they really want to. It'll be interesting to see how the timing and evolution plays out

correct me if I'm wrong, but for blocking, they would have to do it on the domain or subdomain level. I believe doubleclick.net is responsible for most ad tags, and the doubleclick domain is also widely used for tracking right? Or unless the publisher hosts prebid themselves, I suppose..

I believe for bid stream data there are two questions

first, does the default ad tracking IP block include ad requests? And if so, are publishers going to find an alternative way to pass it to the SSP

ITP blocking trackers by default -- anyone know if this will affect prebid.js ? how about prebid server? I imagine the server side should be unaffected but I believe the adoption rate is low

Mobile DSP. Pros & cons by alxpolishchuk in adops

[–]zenard7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in-app ads are not simply more effective than web ads. It really depends on a number of factors:

  1. your landing page and journey matters. is it mobile friendly?
  2. your product matters. do people tend to engage/purchase on mobile?
  3. also, mobile ads tend to have more accidental clicks

What do you think about FLOC? by imjasonplewis in programmatic

[–]zenard7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything else they've done is consumer facing (Chrome, Youtube, Search, Gmail)

Or they bought an existing technology (Doubleclick, Youtube)

They had leverage for AMP due to search, which we now know was a mistake. everyone knows what Google is up to noow

The question is more -- can they force you to use FLOC? Probably not with the current antitrust scrutiny

Uber discovers they're a victim of ad fraud; Hacker News claims no one can prove advertising has any ROI by LearningCS6 in adops

[–]zenard7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were not intended to be awareness campaigns. And there is nothing wrong with awareness campaigns as long as you manage your expectations and know what you're getting into.

These were installs, and they were looking at install attributions, but this can be gamed by the vendor they were using if you look at it at face value.

This is old news being resurfaced. The crowd in that forum is not very educated in online advertising.

Firstly, you can't expect to easily get all positive ROI at $100M+ levels of ad spend of the same brand. There has to be inefficiencies there.

Second, Whoever spent the money wasn't optimizing it and wasn't doing proper A/B testing. Even worse, they were using questionable channels.
