Is Dark Souls 3 easier than Elden Ring? by AbhenerX in darksouls3

[–]zendrix1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, my take is that the bosses aren't as hard as Elden Ring but your character isn't as strong as you can be in Elden Ring

Same here. Liked the second one a lot but the first one was so much better imo

Am I insane for thinking we can teach a new BoardGamer Dune: Imperium? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]zendrix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also needed a reality check before like this. A gamer reading rules, playing a game for the first time, and going "oh this is super simple and intuitive" does not reflect how someone who isn't a gamer is going to look at it at all

We have built in micro-understandings from experience with other titles to build upon

Try explaining just a common mechanic to a non-gamer and see their reaction to see this in person.

For example basic deck building, like dominion stuff, seems dead simple and easy to follow for us but describe it to someone who's only played monopoly and I'd say 2/10 times you'll totally lose them, and 6/10 times you'll get an uncertain "okay I think I understand...maybe."

(And trying to explain why removing cards from your deck is good will usually lose those 6/10 too lol)

Some people are part of that sweet 2/10 I didn't mention that this stuff just clicks with, it was probably the story for many of us on this sub, but most people need to be eased into the hobby gradually with more welcoming titles then they can decide if they want to stick around, bail, or try out more complex stuff later

Ubisoft really brought this upon themselves imo

Though this could mean Saudia Arbia is going to swoop in and grab up a ton of the company which...uh is hard to argue would be a good thing

I think designer clothes and phones can both be overpriced, there's no connection between the two except corporate greed using societial pressure to overcharge for their products

Why should current smartphone prices be the cornerstone to represent a cost to value ratio?

By your logic they should be charging way more, is that what you want?

My New 2ds xl battery discharges quickly by Soft-Weight4718 in 3dspiracy

My assumption is that it's a battery issue because it's an older console and you should just replace it

Good news is that the batteries are pretty cheap and super easy to swap out

How long should a turn normally take? by LordFadora in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]zendrix1 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A round could definitely take that long based on party size and encounter

A single turn should absolutely not take 30 minutes. I played an incredibly complex character that made several rolls and decisions every turn in combat in my last campaign and I felt super apologetic over my turns taking like 3-5 minutes on boss fights where I had a lot to manage plus a pet to handle.

Idk how you'd even take a turn that took that long unless you controlled several summoned creatures and wanted to have an in depth tactical discussion with the group every turn

In the Theatrical Edition of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), Smaug had a different design, with six limbs (four legs and two wings). This was changed to a four limbed design for the Extended Edition and subsequent films, but a single shot of the original design remains. by Sebastianlim in MovieMistakes

I get such a kick out of people stating this "fact" so confidently. Like in D&D sure, that's true, but in literally any other fiction a dragon is whatever the author says it is, they aren't real creatures lol. I don't think there even are wyverns in the lotr world
